MI vs RR, 1st Leg, Mumbai

The whole country of India was dressed with the colours of joy and excitement of a new IPL season. IPL was a celebration period for Indian Cricket Fans, despite some toxicity between these 'fans' this was still a merry period.

Every year during the IPL, every city would wear their players pride all over and the citizens would march in groups at the stadium in form of support. As for the players every IPL, they'd find a new version of them. Something or the other would change.

As for Rohit Sharma he entered the IPL as a player and not a captain after 10 long years. He was coming from a recent loss in the World Cup Final and an even more recent triumph against England in a five match test series.

One of the greatest finds according to him in terms of the test series was a new bunch of youngsters who came afresh under the spotlight. With a special emphasis on a 23 year old Yashasvi Jaiswal who had earned a position of future greats. His little Yashu had become the talk of the town.

Rohit sat in his home in Mumbai after practice. Practice had been busy since the RR team had already reached and they were sharing the same ground. He had already gotten fresh and was about to go to sleep when he recieved a call from 'Jos'. Did he forget anything on the field?

"Hello" Ro said recieving the call, "Hello, mate sorry for the bother. I actually needed to talk about something important." Jos said

"No problem, Jos. Please go on." Ro said and Jos let out a nervous dry laughter. "Well you know its about Yash" he sighed and said, "I dont know how exactly I should tell you this but the poor boy is not doing well."

Ro was a little taken aback by two things. Firstly, Yashu seemed off to him to but he never said anything. Secondly, How did Jos get to know about it before him.

"I have noticed that something's up with him but do you have any idea what?" He asked "Yes! I do." Jos claimed and continued "He is not doing well with all the pressure over him and it's affecting him. He doesn't like to show it but I know."

After a very brief silence Jos said, "Yash is like a little brother to me and I care about him a lot. I tried to give some advice but I dont think it'll matter as much as your advice. He always speaks highly of you. I think you should talk to him."

Ro smiled and answered, "I will speak to him, after the match. Thank you so much for letting me know. Good night." Jos thanked him and cut the call.

After the match Ro was sitting in his room waiting for Yashu. Eventhough MI had lost the match and Ro had gone out on a duck, the thing that mattered most was a proper conversation with Yashu.

Jos
He is on his way to ur room.

Ro read the message and kept the phone on bed waiting for the twenty three year old to barge in. And within five minutes that's what happened.

"Bhaiya, you called?" Yashu marched in the room and Ro signalled him to sit next to him. "Condrats on the win, bachha." Ro said with a warm voice.

"Kaha ka Condrats bhaiya? I had zero contribution today." Yashu said with sarcasm evident in his voice. "Ok what is going on with you? You were doing so confident last time we met, IPL ke hawa mein kuch ho gaya kya?" Ro finally asked.

After a moment of silence he finally said, "It's getting hard bhaiya. All the media, people all of them always talking about me. It feels wrong. All the pressure, I just- I think they are right. Maybe all the fame got to me."

Rohit put a comforting hand on his back, "Tu mujhe humesha punchta tha na ki mein sabke samne tera tarif kyun nahin karta? This is the reason. I know how it feels when an entire nation is looking up to you wanting you to score a century in every match. This pressure is terrible and as a captain and a bhaiya I didn't want to be the person putting that same pressure on you."

He paused and then continued, "Form is temporary Yashu skill is not. Look, from now on don't try to be Jaisball or the next Virender Sehwag or the next Rohit Sharma. Close your eyes and try to find the Yashasvi Jaiswal. Be that person first. Remember You are greater than your name. "

"Sab thik ho jayega na?" He asked and Ro smiled, "Ha hoga par itni jaldi nahin. It is all a process Yashu, it will take time."

Yashu hugged Ro and stayed like that for a few minutes. "Thank you, Bhaiya." He mumbled in the hug and Ro patted his back. "Waise Jos is closer to you than me?" Ro asked teasing him.

"No bhaiya its nothing like that he is just closer in terms of proximity, you are to my only bhaiya." Yashu defended and pulled him in a hug again.

MI vs RR, 2nd leg, Jaipur

Yashasvi Jaiswal was back and stronger than ever. Showcasing maturity and resilience he cruised to his second IPL hundred. Comeback was always meant to be sweeter than the setback.

Once he hit the winning runs he hugged Ishu who had congratulated him and walked towards his Rohit bhaiya muttering "Yes! I did it."

He saw the proud look in Ro's eyes and hugged him. "I think I found myself." he whispered. "Never let him go." Ro replied.
