Claire continued to lead [Name] to the spot where she had remembered Abbie and Lana's lifeless bodies being. The latter was growing increasingly uneasy with every step they took towards the generally unused classroom.

The first thing they noticed upon arriving was that one of the doors was broken down, and the other had cracks at the edge. Claire stopped a bit short of the doorway, not wanting to see the graphic sight she knew lied within. She heard [Name]'s breath hitch in horror and despair when they had finally reached a point where they could see inside, and she could see how their eyes began to get glossy with unshed tears.

They hastily made their way to their friends' bodies, trying their best to not burst out into tears at that very moment. They probably would have done so already if Claire wasn't mere feet away. They dropped to their knees in between both corpses, looking towards Abbie first since he had sustained the most damage.

They weren't even sure if revival was possible with him. Sure, Claire had been ripped in half and was missing an eye, but he was much worse. He was missing practically half his body, and [Name] was sure that a few organs were gone along with it.

They reached out, barely resisting the urge to hurl as they arranged his remaining innards into place as best as they could. They were suddenly very glad for Miss Bloomie's biology lessons.

[Name] then began brushing their hands along the disfigured half of Abbie's body, feeling it slowly revert itself back to its usual state under their touch. They felt a hint of solace as they watched his form slowly fix itself, overjoyed knowing their friend was going to be okay.

Once the timid boy looked like his normal self, they placed their hand over his heart. They felt a heartbeat spark up to meet their palm, and soon his heart was beating at a regular rate. They pulled their hand away from his chest as his eyes shot open.

He rose to a sitting position, looking around the room. [Name] shifted so that he wouldn't catch sight of Lana's decapitated corpse, which had some pencils stuck in the head. The room was filled with a somewhat tense silence before Abbie engulfed the necromancer into a hug. "Thank you," he murmured, his soft voice filled with gratitude. "I don't know what exactly you did, but thank you."

They smiled, reciprocating the hug. "It's no problem. Just glad you're okay." The two sat there for a few moments, the hug growing warmer and warmer as Abbie's body temperature rose to a normal level. They both eventually let go, and as he turned to look at his now intact body [Name] turned to Lana.

They fit her head back into her body like a puzzle piece, the severed head reconnecting under their fingertips. They ripped the pencils from her cranium, setting them aside as they repaired the holes the wooden object had caused. They could feel that Abbie's probably horrified gaze had settled on them and Lana, but they were more focused on bringing their friend back to life at the moment.

Claire was watching them now as well, but it was more out of interest in the process that had revived her than anything. While she didn't want to see the brutal scene again, she couldn't help the curiosity that bubbled within her. She studied how [Name] flipped Lana over to lay on her back, then how they placed their hand over her unmoving heart. Soon enough, Lana had opened her eyes too.

When Lana came to, the first thing she saw was her friend's eyes staring down at her, hope swirling in their watery [e/c] irises. That hope gave way for relief as she embraced them with a big smile plastered on her face. Elated "thank you"s spilled from her lips as she squeezed them tight, letting go of them being the furthest thought from her mind.

They sat in each other's arms for a little while as [Name] felt fatigue beginning to wash over them. They fought to keep their eyes open in order to not pass out on the floor. Lana eventually noticed this, reluctantly letting them go, then standing up and helping them to their feet.

The four made their way to the exit, once [Name] had mentioned that they probably didn't have to stay at the school any longer today. The three carried on a conversation after attempting to wring answers from the tired reanimator. Their attempts were in vain, however, since they couldn't offer up much explanation as to how they were able to bring the three back from the dead. All they could explain was that it was an ability they were born with.

They had all come to the agreement that nobody was to know what had transpired, since they were unsure if the teachers would be too happy about their failing students being offered second chances at life. The faculty was mostly psychotic anyways, so who really knew how they would respond to a necromancer in their midst?

As they approached the true exit, they could see that the blood had been cleaned, not a spot of the substance remaining anywhere in the area. School was getting out very soon, so it was understandable why they had rushed to clear the bloody scene up. Claire, Abbie, and Lana walked out the double doors, making their way to their respective homes.

[Name] watched them depart, and they couldn't help but feel bad for Claire. She was a new student, and had to discover the teachers' cruelty towards failure first hand. It was a shame, from what they had gathered she was pretty smart too.

They supposed it couldn't be helped, they had done all they could to aid their companions. They snuck back into their study hall, glad they were seated at the corner of the library to where nobody really looked over. As the day reached a close, they hoped that nobody would react too badly to Claire, Abbie, and Lana's presences the next day.
