"MAY I TAKE A LOOK?" Lyla asked, holding out her hand for Henry's telescope.

He handed it to her and Lyla peered through the eyepiece, looking out to sea. In the distance, she could make out the faint lights of another ship and the British flag flying, almost dropping Henry's telescope in surprise.

"Redcoats," she gasped.

Henry took back the telescope and looked through it, before shouting, "Redcoats! Redcoats!"

"We have to get down from here," Lyla said.

"Agreed," Henry said.

In the distance, a blaze of orange lit up the sky and Lyla turned to see the British ship go up in flames as it was destroyed by another. She gasped when she realised that it was Salazar, and heard her mother shouting her name from below.

"Lyla! Henry! Come down!" she demanded, before she turned her attention to the crew. "Whatever happens, stay your course!"

Lyla and Henry began to climb down the rigging, and when Salazar's ship crashed into the side of the Pearl, Lyla was flung sideways and lost her grip on the rigging. She would have tumbled down to the sea below, but Henry managed to catch her hand and helped her regain her footing.

"I've got you," he said.

"Thank you," Lyla replied.

"Jack Sparrow!" called Salazar tauntingly. "Jack Sparrow! I've come with a butcher's bill."

Lyla ran towards her father as her mother shouted orders. "Defend yourselves, men! To the death!"

"Dad, where's JJ?" Lyla asked.

"He's in my cabin," Jack said, placing a hand on Lyla's shoulder. "Protect your brother, Baby Bird."

Lyla nodded, grabbing Henry's hand as she ran for her father's cabin. Bursting through the doors, she shouted her brother's name and saw one of Salazar's men across the room. Behind him, her brother cowered, clutching the toy bird that had once been Lyla's. With a fury raging inside her, Lyla drew her sword and ran at Salazar's man, swinging her sword across his chest. It did little in the way of killing him, but it made him turn his attention away from JJ.

"Henry!" Lyla shouted. "Take JJ and go! Find somewhere safe to hide!"

Amara ran into the room. "No! Stay put!"

"Little hard to do that!" Lyla shouted, as she fought against Salazar's man.

"Get away from my daughter!" Amara demanded, drawing her own weapon.

Henry grabbed JJ and pulled him into his arms, intending on protecting the boy. "Lyla, we have to get out of this cabin."

Amara looked at them both. "Go!"

"You just told us to stay!" Lyla shouted.

Amara let out a shout and drove her sword right through the man's chest. Miraculously, he crumbled to dust at her feet and Amara was left holding her sword where she had thrust it, looking utterly confused. Lyla and Henry looked to her for an explanation, but she merely shrugged.

"I got nothing," she said. "Henry, give me JJ."

JJ was passed to his mother, who ushered Lyla and Henry from the room. "Protect your friend at the helm. She needs to get us to land."

"Carina!" Henry and Lyla gasped.

"Yes, go!" Amara demanded. "And if you see Jack, tell him this is his fault."

"Will do," Lyla nodded.

They ran from Jack's cabin and Henry shouted, "Carina!"

"Henry, look!" she yelled. "The island is there."
