A picture of us:
I in one hand,
my sister in the other,
with your face in between. And a smile of joy
is painted on your face–
one of lingering regrets,
yet happy in its place. We share a popsicle
as it melts
under the hot sun.I crash and fall,
over and over
but you laugh,
and I laugh too.We share fries
and peppered ketchup;
I giggle
and you chuckle.You say "ouch"
and I watch and worry,
and grab a bandaid—
just like always.You disappear
but always come back
after a days work–
far too long.I ask you to split an apple
with just your hands,
and you do!You eat one half
and give me the other–
without a second thought.I take a sip of your
soda, in revenge
for taking my cup.And you open a bag of blueberries,
frozen and tempting–We share the bowl
and my small hands
stained purple,
become a lasting memory of you.Hi! I'm still new to this, so any and all tips are welcome.
This one is a free verse poem as always. 🤨
