Chapter 51

Ahaan

I felt her body shiver when I whispered just for her to hear, "Where do you want to go?"

The way she looked at me, god! I love teasing her, and I have a feeling it's going to be fun.

God, I am engaged and this feels so right. After my parents' death never in my wildest dream thought that I would get married.

Every time I look at her the ice protecting my heart melts down, with each crack of the ice she is seeping right into it.

The simple platinum band fits right onto my ring finger and feels foreign but right. Never in my wildest, I thought I would have wild thoughts about someone. But she is breaking every rule I made all these years.

"Where do you want to go?" Her voice barely a whisper, If she had not been sitting so close to me, I would not have heard her.

"Huh," My trance broke.

"do you want to know?" I teased her

"love birds, stop looking at each other like we are not here" Aryan muffled his voice as he stuffed his mouth with the food.

I just glared at him. And looked at my would-be wife who was staring at the food as if she had just not asked me or should I say teased me. This girl is something else.

"Oh, you want to play it that way, huh?" I leaned closer, my voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "Fine, let's discuss it in private, would be Mrs. Malhotra"

The blush creeping up her neck was both adorable and infuriating. It was like she was playing a game, throwing out a challenge, and then retreating behind a feigned innocence. I couldn't help but grin, the heat in my chest intensifying.

she was becoming an addiction I couldn't resist.

"Aryan," I called out, my voice laced with mock seriousness, "clear the schedule for tomorrow afternoon. I have a very important meeting."

Aryan, ever the oblivious one, simply shrugged and mumbled something about paperwork before diving back into his meal.

The rest of the evening passed in a blur of stolen glances and playful banter. Every touch, every brush of her hand against mine, sent shivers down my spine. I was a man teetering on the edge, caught between whether I should be afraid of the way she was seeping into my heart or excited about it.

As the night drew to a close, I walked her to her room, the silence between us thick with unspoken emotions. When we reached her door, I stopped, turning to face her. The moonlight bathed her face in an ethereal glow, highlighting the vulnerability in her eyes.

"I meant what I said," I murmured, my voice husky. "Tomorrow, in my office. No interruptions, just you and me."

She didn't respond, but the way her lips parted slightly, the way her breath hitched, spoke volumes. With a final lingering look, I turned and walked away, the echo of her name on my lips was doing things to my heart.
