[Y/n's PoV]

After I opened my eyes, I found that I was no longer in a spiritual form. Instead, I was back in my normal physical body and back inside of the Infirmary of St. Freya Academy. The sudden change in reality felt jarring, and I still felt slightly disoriented as I tried to regain my composure.

"Damn her..."

Whether I wanted to accept it or not, she had pretty much managed to hit the nail on the head when it came to pointing out all of my flaws and shortcomings.

My body remained motionless while my consciousness continued to function and experience the outside world. As it continued to think about what had transpired, I slowly began to notice the various tubes and IV bottles that were connected to my body. Although I could mentally move around as I pleased, my body itself was still recovering from the exhaustion it had just endured from the core she planted earlier.

"I wonder how they are doing..."

I lay there, pondering about the current state of Mei and Bronya until I heard the sound of footsteps approaching the infirmary.

"Captain, we got a situation."

It was Durandal. I recognized her tone as one that was serious. Whatever the situation was, it seemed to be important enough to draw our well ranked Valkyrie to me as soon as she could.

"What's the situation?"

She stayed quiet for a few seconds as though she was thinking about how she should answer my question.

"There... There has been a disturbance at one of our branch facilities..."

"An ambush..?"

She gave me a quick nod, confirming my guess.

"Yes, there is the possibility that it could've been an ambush. According to the communications from the branch facility, they lost contact a little while ago. So far, we haven't heard anything since."

"...."

Hmm...

I was about to try taking off the tubes from my body, but Durandal stopped me. I knew perfectly well that Durandal was aware of my movements and once she saw me trying to do just that, she immediately restrained me. Despite my attempts, I couldn't budge even an inch.

"You're still in recovery process, Captain. You need to stay here and continue to recover; we can't risk any further injuries- especially not when we're currently facing a potential new threat."

"And I certainly cannot stay idly here either." I interrupted her.

She sighed, "...Look, I know that you have a sense of responsibility to lead the team and protect them against any kind of threats that they may face, but... this is one of those times when I have to stand firm..."

"You're still injured, Captain. We can't risk having somebody in the team go into battle while at the same time struggling to recover from their previous injuries."

I stubbornly shook my head.

"It's nothing major. I just lost consciousness in the forest earlier, nothing mo-"

"No matter how much you may downplay it, Captain... you were still unconscious for an extended period of time, and that shouldn't be taken lightly."

Ugh, I guess she's not willing to budge or let me leave regardless of whether my injuries were serious or not, but then again...

"Durandal."

I gave her a solemn look as she had no choice but to look away. It seems that being a Captain does have some certain authority.

"...."

Despite my gaze, Durandal still seemed adamant- it was almost as if she was more concerned about my well-being than I was. Then, after a long silence between us, she sighed finally in defeat.

"If you insist on going, then I can't stop you... but at the very least, let me join you in this. I won't have you going against an unknown threat while still being injured."

I nodded my head.

"Informed the other Valkyries available. I already suspect our enemies are a group of honkai along the way."

Durandal just placed her hands on her hip before looking at the window.

"Then we must tread carefully when confronting them. We have no knowledge of what kind of Herrscher or other type of Honkai threat that could be waiting for us there. We must also remember that honkai are very good at blending in in many ways; even though it may not appear as such, we could be dealing with a much more dangerous threat than we initially realized."

...
.....
.....

"...Of course." I confirmed before she fixed her gaze to me.

"Regardless of what threat we may face, we'll be prepared for anything that comes our way. Even if we are outnumbered or outmatched in terms of strength, tactics alone can be enough to ensure victory."

"Alright then, let's go."

"Acknowledged. Let's get going, Captain."

She immediately left the Infirmary the moment she got my go ahead. Without wasting any time, she was now walking towards the terminal room, heading over to receive the latest information on the situation at hand.

I slowly followed behind her as the other Valkyries were quite surprised to see me knowing that I still haven't fully recovered but they quickly got over their shock soon enough.

"Captain, you're here..? Aren't you- are you really okay? You're still getting over your previous injuries, and yet you're already..."

I nodded indifferently.

"I'm fine, there are other things that need to be taken care of. Shall we?"

I didn't push the topic further hence they didn't bother asking any more questions. There was a mission at hand we needed to take care of, and that is what mattered most right now.

"Understood, Captain. Let's go."
