By the time Lockwood had returned that night, Sabrina had been fast asleep, curled up at the bottom of his bed with Piper tucked into her side. It looked as if she had tried to stay awake, sat at the end of his bed awaiting his return. However, her exhaustion had taken over and she had fallen asleep.
When he had returned, discovering the scene before him, a small smile tugged on his lips at the oddly domestic sight.
With the promise of discussing everything later, he got into bed, carefully moving Sabrina and Piper into a more comfortable place by his pillows. The dog had been annoyed at being awoken but upon seeing Lockwood it was as if the dog changed her mood completely, obeying his demands without second thought.
