I set out on a journey through a beautiful path,
Such a gorgeous view as I soar pass.
Clear skies, fresh air, A grand light to bathe.
Everything feels right nothing in my way,
Today could in fact be the perfect day.
Wait the sky's growing dark, the sunlight fades...
And is that water? Could this be rain?
I see many clouds now they do seem late,
The wind is picking up, oh I can't fly straight.
Oh so suddenly how the tides have changed,
As if life itself wishes to bring me pain.
I cannot see and the rain is heavy,
The wind makes it worst as I cannot keep steady.
Which direction have I gone?
Which direction is my goal?
The rain presses on my wings,
The wind makes it so cold.
The clouds make it so dark I can barely tell where I'm going.
But in no way shape or form will I let this slow me.
I will hold out,
My able wings at my side.
Maybe they can't flap,
But I can surely glide.
The wind is so strong,
But so is my pride.
The only fight here will be to maintain flight.
The winds will be my direction and help me stay aerial,
Navigate and let them carry me to a safe area.
The rain will be my sonar to keep me alert,
Use the sound to see what's in front of me and keep from getting hurt.
So while my wings may be weak I won't let them break,
Only rest and may a stronger pair take their place,
Tomorrow could always be a better day.
