Patience

There is always a storm before a calm. There is always darkness before daylight. There is always turbulence before quiet. There are always sacrifices before a great victory. There is always awaiting before a breakthrough. There is always prayer before an answer. There is always pain before joy. There is always failure before success. There is always pregnancy before the birth of a newborn baby. Patience.

"Boss, regarding our expansion plans in the North End," he began, his voice steady and confident. "We've managed to secure two new fronts, but there's been some pushback from the DeLucas. They're not keen on sharing their turf." I made a mental note to keep a close eye on the situation.

Despite my affairs with Kaoir consuming much of my time, I didn't forget about my due diligence here. However, she made it ever so hard when she attended my meetings like I asked for looking the way she did. I was truly infatuated with this woman, every fiber of her being. It didn't take much for her to revert to the girl I hated to love, the girl who intrigued me with all of her complexities. This time around, she didn't hate me.

My brow furrowed slightly as I considered this. "Keep a close eye on them," I instructed, my tone firm. "We don't need any more unnecessary conflicts, but we won't back down either. Somebody else give me some good news."

Giulia, the financial expert of the group, spoke up next, her voice confident as she delivered her report. "Profits are up across the board," she announced, a hint of pride in her tone. "Our money laundering operation is running smoother than ever, and we've diversified our investments to minimize risk."

I nodded my head in satisfaction. I turned my attention to Kaoir, who was slightly absentminded. She looked breathtaking even when she wasn't trying, I couldn't help but focus on her. Each curve of her body is a testament to the divine artistry of creation, a masterpiece sculpted by the hands of the gods themselves. Her hair looked best in it's natural state, coils that fell down her shoulders and framed her face like a halo. God, I sounded ridiculous.

But it is her curves that truly captivate me, each contour a symphony of sensuality that begs to be explored. Her chest rises and falls with each breath, a tantalizing promise of warmth and comfort that beckons me closer. Her waist, nipped in just so, accentuates the gentle swell of her hips, a testament to the timeless allure of femininity.

I couldn't continue to look at her any longer, for I knew I'd take her down in front of everyone in the room without hesitation, force them to watch the personification of my desire for her. "Kaoir, anything you'd like to add?"

Kaoir picked up her head, her bored eyes naturally sparkling with intelligence. "Your alliance with the Santanas. They've been itching for a fight with the DeLucas. Stir up some trouble, let them weaken each other. That'll not only handle the problem with the new fronts on the North End, but perhaps make room for Jace to fall on you for support. Tighten the reigns on your agreement, you save his ass and increase your winnings." She spoke, her voice authoritative by nature. Sometimes, I forget she's a boss in her own right.

I looked around the room to see everybody staring at her as if they were dumbfounded or waiting for her to say something else. I heightened my brow, clearing my throat. Quickly, their attention averted back to me. Antonio, a man of few words but formidable presence, nodded in acknowledgment. "Consider it done," he grunted, his gaze unwavering.

I took notice to one of them who didn't let his gaze move from Kaoir, his tongue swiping between his lips slowly. His eyes traveled from her face to her cleavage, which just slightly made its appearance out of the black sundress she wore. I'll admit, although she always looked beautiful, she had a glow to her that was much different than usual. Still, that didn't excuse him looking at my woman like she was a piece of meat he wanted to devour.
