I was sitting on the couch, a satisfied smile on my lips as I watched Mabel move gracefully around the room.

My mind wandered through all the little things I loved about her: the contagious sound of her laughter, the sweetness of her hugs, and... the unmistakable taste of her lip balm. Without thinking, I ran my tongue over my lips, still soaked in the flavor of her lip balm. In that moment, an idea flashed through my mind: stealing a kiss from her.

"Love, where are you?" I got up from the couch, innocently pretending to search for my girlfriend.

"I'm here," came the response from the kitchen, and with a smile on my lips, I headed in that direction.

Through the living room, around the corner, I saw Mabel busy cooking. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail, sleeves rolled up to her elbows, hands busy chopping tomatoes.

The pot boiling on the stove.

"What are you doing?" I asked timidly, biting my lower lip. My eyes glanced at the table full of dirty bowls and utensils. "Can't you see I'm doing laundry?" Mabel joked, and I rolled my eyes at her sarcastic comment.

"Ouch," I placed a hand over my heart, and Mabel chuckled softly, making me feel butterflies in my stomach.

I love her laughter.

"Can I steal something?" I asked, looking around, my mouth drying up in delight. I spotted a slice of toasted bread with tuna and oil on top.

Oh... She was preparing bruschetta.

"Don't you dare," Mabel finishes cutting the tomatoes and places the knife in the sink, taking a spoon from the drawer. Despite her threat, I approach the table and reach for the toasted bread.

"Hey," I say with a hint of pain after receiving a slap on my hand.
"I told you no," Mabel looks up and stares intensely into my eyes, making me feel small in the face of such intensity. "You're not my mother," I retort, wanting to regain my authority.

Mabel continues to stare at me and then directs her gaze to her hands. "I need to finish the preparation... If I catch you, you're done for," the brunette raises her lips in a small smile, and I stare back at her with determination.

I reach out and take the bread, causing Mabel's expression to change.

"Y/n, put the bread down," Mabel raises her hand, desperately trying to take the food from me, but our height difference makes her attempt in vain. I look down at her with a satisfied smile, finally able to carry out my mischievous plan.

Taking advantage of Mabel's distraction as she stares determinedly at the bread in my hand, I tilt my head and capture her lips with mine in a sweet kiss. Mabel's reprimand dies on my lips at the moment of contact, and with a satisfied smile, I continue to savor the kiss sweetened by the lip balm.

The tension in Mabel's shoulders relaxes, and she returns the kiss with infinite tenderness.

I break the kiss and smile, seeing Mabel with her lips slightly parted, eyes closed, stunned by the kiss. I lick my lips, feeling her lip balm and smile triumphantly.

"Didn't I tell you I wanted to steal something?" I say calmly, and Mabel looks at me with confusion.

"Mmmmh" Mabel responds, still dazed, and I smile as I see her eyes looking at me strangely.

I lean in again and steal another kiss.

"See you later," I say hoarsely, and Mabel's cheeks turn as red as the tomato she was cutting just a few minutes ago.

I leave the room and bite into the bread with happiness, my reward for distracting Mabel.

A few seconds later, my girlfriend's angry voice reaches my ears and I can't help but burst into laughter.

"Y/N! THE BREAD!"
