"Fucking hell... Are you okay?"

Instantly my eyes shot up, and met the dark blue eyes of Barty Crouch. He seemed both scared and worried.

"Hello?" He took a last step down the boys' dormitory staircase, before looking around the empty room, then me.

My eyes met his again. "What?"

Barty frowned. "You just screamed your lungs out," he pointed out. "I nearly had a heart attack."

Nervously I tugged on the bottom of my sweater. "I thought I was alone-"

"So you set out shouting your lungs fucked-up?" he frowned.

I tucked some hair behind my ear. "Well, I have a valid excuse." I cleared my throat. "Maybe if you were at dinner I would have known you were here."

Barty gave a chuclle of disbelief. "This is not my fault, Marissa. You have only your own, weird emotional blockage to blame."

My face grew with irritation. "You're the one to talk," I scoffed, looking away from his somewhat perfect eyes. I've always hated that about him. "When was the last time you showed an emotion other than pure satisfaction?"

"What can I say?" he grinned, crossing his arms and leaning against the wall. "I am easily satisfied."

A soft laugh escaped my lips, making Barty frown. "Satisfied easily?" I shook my head. "Low standards much? That horny?"

Realization filled his face, and he dropped his grin, now clearly not happy at all. "The fuck did you just say?" he asked, bitter.

With a shrug of my shoulders, I turned around, before making my way to the stairs. "You said it yourself," I clarified. "Just remember that."

A smile lit my lips as I left him in the Common Room and made my way down the girls' dormitory hallway to my dorm.

Barty and I never got along, but then again, we never really interacted before. When we did we'd either argue, or just be plain butter towards the other. Although, I was like that with his friends too - Lucius, Evan, and the Lestrange brothers, Rodolphus and Rabastan.

Narcissa, Bellatrix and I were barely around the boys, but when we were, I keep to myself.

The boys gave off odd vibes. Dangerous even. I didn't know if I wanted to trust them.

Unlike the Marauders, we Slytherins weren't trouble. Maybe rude and bitter and many very disrespectful, but not bullies and pranksters. There's a difference.

Ever since first year, those four 'perfect' Gryffindore boys were like atom bombs waiting to implode. They were the reasons why so many Slytherins actually became rude.
