Emily's past came knocking on the door, literally. Her ex-boyfriend, Max, walked into the coffee shop, looking as charming as ever. Emily's heart skipped a beat, but Ryan's presence beside her was a comforting reminder of her new love.
Max tried to charm his way back into Emily's life, but she was no longer fooled. Ryan, sensing her discomfort, stepped in and calmly told Max that Emily was happy and taken.
As Max left, Emily felt a weight lift off her shoulders. She realized that she had truly moved on and was grateful for Ryan's support. "Thanks for being my rock, Ryan," she said, snuggling into his embrace.
Ryan smiled, his eyes shining with love. "Always, Emily. We're in this together, forever."
