No Ones POV
Soul woke up in his bed staring up at the ceiling fan. It took all his strength to turn his head. Maka and Y/N had been sitting in the chairs by the window, but both bolted up at the sound of the moan that escaped him.
He waved them off, wordlessly, sitting up. He lifted off the sheets and slowly swung his legs off the side of the bed,
"What happened?"
"You passed out," Y/N said.
"No shit," he replied, before instantly feeling guilty. They both looked worried.
"The witch we fought—her name is Zelena—she was arrested and brought back to Death City," Maka elaborated, "The others went with them and the three of us plus Ruby are supposed to meet them when you're better."
"Well, I'm better..." Soul stood up, shakily.
"Hold on, let us help you," Y/N said, alarmed, but he brushed her off again.
"I'm just going to take a leak, and you're not helping me with that,"
Her and Maka resigned to sit back in their chairs as he disappeared into the bathroom. "How long was I out for?" he called.
"A few hours," came Makas voice, "It's just about supper time. We'll head back tomorrow morning if you're still feeling okay."

The girls went downstairs for dinner after insisting Soul take it easy a little longer. "I'm worried about Soul," Maka said into her picked at food.
"He'll be fine. He's a Death Scythe, remember?" Y/N said around her mouthfuls.
Maka gave her an apologetic grin, "I keep forgetting how strong he's gotten. Sometimes I think he's still a teenager."
Y/N put a hand over hers, "He's fine. He just needs rest. He took quite a beating out there."
Makas face fell and her eyes glossed over, "No thanks to you."
Y/N scoffed, "I'm sorry?"
Maka opened her mouth to continue, but they both laid eyes on Soul coming into the diner. He staggered up to their table and dropped into a chair. The girls bit their tongues, until he'd finished ordering, then Maka hissed,
"Soul, you're not supposed to be out of bed."
"Piss off, Maka. I'm starving,"
"We could've brought you up something,"
"I wanted to get some change of scenery,"
"So you're feeling better?" Y/N butted in.
"I am, so drop it. What were you guys talking about?"
"Just the mission," Y/N said, mercifully leaving it at that.
Soul snorted around the first bite of his steak, "You call that a mission? More like a ruined vacation."
"Yeah, I guess so,"
"Something else bothers me," Maka said, as they all finished up their meals, "Zelena was way too easy to beat."
"I know. Her own henchman almost went down harder," Y/N said.
"Guys, can't you just be happy we won?" Soul cut in.
Maka frowned, "I guess. It's just worrying."
Souls stood up, abruptly, "I'm beat. I'm going back to bed. Y/N, walk me?"
She stood up too, startled, "Um...sure. Night, Maka."
"Night."

My POV
We reached Souls room where he pulled me in with him, slammed the door and pushed me up against it. He kissed me hard all the while I was trying to push him off, at least enough to get a word in.
"Soul...No...Not now,"
Finally he pulled back, but he was dragging me by both hands to the bed, "What's wrong?"
"You. Need. Rest."
He pushed me back into the bed, getting on top of me and pinning my wrists, "I'll get lots of rest—after this. I promise."
I sighed, shaking my head at his impish fangy grin, "Okay."
Afterwards, when there was silence, I ventured to nuzzle my head into the crook of Souls shoulder.
"Do you remember what you were going to say to me back on the mountain?"
"Hm?"
"When Zelena was attacking us. You started to say something before Maka saved us,"
"Was I? Sorry, I don't remember anything that happened on the mountain. It's just a blank,"
"Oh...Do you remember Zelena attacking us—I mean, you I guess?" I held my breath.
"A little. Damn, you really let me take that beating, huh?"
He laughed but I asked, "Are you mad?"
Soul rolled into one side, propping his head on his hand, "Why would you think that? We talked about this the other night. It's my job to protect my meister."
"You got hurt. Maka—"
Soul sighed, rolling back onto his back and running a hand down his face, "Maka. She's got in your head. Look, she's never been comfortable with me protecting her. That's always gonna be a problem between us, but don't let her make you feel bad."
"I'm not saying I'm comfortable with it. I wish it wasn't like this—with Ruby too. But I also..." I hesitated, knowing what word I wanted to use, and choosing another one, "respect you too much to feel bad or to—I don't know—be angry at you when I should be grateful."
Soul just nodded, slowly, "Good, because you shouldn't be."
"And um...is it bad that I also find it kind of..."
"Kind of what?"
"Hot?" I winced.
Soul sat up again, leaving over me, "Are you kidding me? That's not bad...that's..."
He didn't finish as we were kissing, I was pulling Soul back in top of me desperately. and it started all over again.
