Writer's POV:

"Are you alright?" Nidhi asked as they went into the mall.

"Yeah. Why?" questioned Darsh.

"You are way too calm. I mean you are always calm but are you not angry about my previous conversation?"

They both were seated in the mall at the Ibaco store enjoying the cool stuff. After all the food they had just some time ago only an ice cream could satiate them and pass their time till Ravali would come or if she would still come as she is not answering her phone calls.

And this would be the perfect time and space for Nidhi to make Darsh open up more and also sort out her doubts.

"No Nidhi. What you have said is true. You must know me and my family better. I know how important that should be for a girl." Darsh paused not able to complete the full sentence.

"Good to know you think that way,"

"You can ask me anything, Nidhi and I will try to open up as much as possible." Though he said those words to comfort me there was still quite some hesitancy in him which Nidhi could detect.

"Then be yourself with me first after that, we will talk about being truthful to each other."

Now it is getting to a point beyond irritation to Nidhi. Like where did this hesitancy go when he said he liked her the first time he saw her? Sulking she continued eating her ice cream as Darsh kept staring at her.

Letting out a sigh he started, "Nidhi,... I don't know how to express myself out but before you I have never ever felt this way with anyone, never talked to anyone more than required, never ever anyone asked me to talk to myself and be myself.

Everything is with you only and you alone."

Nidhi stared at him for a good one minute with a stoic face before asking, "Then express yourself now. I am asking, right? Now be yourself."

"Ok. Ask me anything, I will answer to you," assured Darsh.

"Then explain to me about the silence at your home? When I asked your mother about your cooking there came no response from anyone as though I said something wrong."

"Nidhi... my mother is a very sensitive person, very discreet, private person. That is one thing and the other thing is after my father's death maa fell into depression and she was not much concerned about us and not around us for much time. I learned all household chores from my grandma as I stayed with them only.

And she must have become emotional because she was not there for us as a support when she herself had no stability. I don't know if this makes sense to you but this is it."

Silence again engulfed them as they stared at each other, one with a pleading face and the other with a stoic face and no need to tell who was who here.

Straighten up herself she said, "Darsh, to be honest, yes it doesn't make sense to me. No offence. Over time my Emotional Quotient has become negative because of various bad experiences I faced in my life. And that is why I want things to be straightforward, expressing heart out and even in worst case scenarios, god forbid this from happening, but in the worst case we have to part ways I want it to be amicable and honest."

"Nidhi, maybe I can become bare in front of you like in an instant or with a snap of fingers, even I am not like that, even the experiences I have faced in my life made me like this. But I will not make you feel like this again. I will be honest like you want."

He expected her to acknowledge him and she did smile but it was too fake to feel content about.

"But Nidhi, we are yet to start a life together and you are thinking about parting ways? Why are you so negative about me?"

It was an unexpected question to Nidhi and shock was evident on her. In a moment the tables turned and now Darsh held a stern expression and it was Nidhi's turn to talk.

"Darsh, I... didn't mean in that way. Sorry for those words. It's just sometimes my overthinking mind goes to the extreme and fear overpowers my mind and makes me talk that way.

And my past failed relation also...."

"Nidhi, I am your present," interrupted Darsh gently unclenching her palm which was placed on the table and holding it in his hand as a way of assuring her.

"And you are my present. So let us trust each other and start this relationship. With time we will get to know each other likes, dislikes, insecurities, fears and everything. Ok?"

A wave of relief washed over Nidhi as he heard his words. All the fears and apprehensions which she held till some moments ago felt silly and guilt pierced her for doubting him. With a smile, she nodded in agreement to his words and she also held his hand more tightly.

"Thank you and Sorry. And let's trust each other. Pinky Promise," Entangling each other's little finger she promised.

"And let's keep holding our hands from now. It feels nice and comfortable," said Nidhi looking at Darsh to which he smiled.

"Nidhi?" Before Darsh could speak more a voice disturbed them from behind. Nidhi looked back and her eyes enlarged more in shock.

It is her brother, Nithin who has the same expression as her. But that is not what shocked her more, it is the women present beside him. Even Darsh has the same expression, but for seeing him here and not the person beside him.

After all, it is just Reena and he knows everything but that's not the case with Nidhi.

She is shocked to see the view in front of her. Her brother found her secret outing with her fiancee and she caught his brother with his girlfriend.
