--------------------------------------------------------------------

Hinata Shōyō
○ It's your first day of HS (first year)
○ He's late, running at full speed to homeroom
○ You'd already settled into your assigned desk area, but had left the room to get water before the teacher arrived and took attendance
○ He came careening around the corner in the hallway and rammed right into you
○ Insert profuse apologies on his part before scurrying off to his class
○ Also insert major embarrassment on his part when you picked yourself back up and followed him to the same homeroom
○ Insert further embarrassment when he realized his assigned seat was directly in front of yours
○ He felt no choice but to introduce himself and apologize again
○ You were uninjured and untroubled, so you accepted his apologies and introduced yourself with a giggle
○ Your kind patience and his bright enthusiasm turned into a fun camraderie in homeroom from then on

Kageyama Tobio
○ By your second year in HS, you had a routine at lunch; you'd spend the first half of break eating your bento with a few friends in the classroom, and you'd wander up to the rooftop of the art building to chill alone during the second half, while snacking on something from the vending machine in the upper corridor
○ Partaway through the year, the school removed the vending machine you bought your afternoon snack from every day
○ You quickly found that the nearest one to the art building was at the edge of the gym area
○ Naturally, Kageyama was there, buying his milk drink of the day the first time you decided to use that vending machine
○ After having to wait your turn after him for an entire week, you realize he buys the same thing every time
○ You decide to make small talk with him about it
○ He's oblivious AF that it's a friendly attempt to get to know him and gives you very short answers
○ It takes a couple months of small talk for him to be used to your presence enough to say any more, much less find out your name (it's awkward to not have known already by then, and is way too late to ask)
○ You become friends by sheer habitual exposure

Kozume Kenma
○ He starts streaming in HS, his social media handle/online gaming persona Kodzuken isn't particularly well-known yet, but he gets decent pocket money from ad revenue and small-time sponsorships while remaining faceless and nearly always voiceless as well
○ Being the type to mind his own business, he doesn't ever advertise his YT channel to anyone IRL
○ One of the games he streams is one you like, but have trouble with and had been looking for walkthroughs of
○ You find a specific hour-long video of his where he easily plays through the parts that are difficult to you, and it happens to be one of the few he has with short voiceover explanations
○ You watch it, playing certain clips over and over until you understand and are successful in following his techniques; this makes you unconsciously familiar with the sound of his voice
○ It's not until some random Wesnesday afternoon after school that you hear a familiar voice in the front hallway at school by the shoe lockers
○ Curious, and unable to place where you know the voice from, you follow the sound to its source, and discover a fellow second year speaking to a third year about the exact game you like
○ It finally clicks that the second year is the streamer from the playthrough video you'd been watching on repeat for the last week, and before you can think of an excuse for eavesdropping, you blurt out, "KODZUKEN?!" in surprise
○ Kenma is shocked and mortified to be recognized IRL and to basically have attention shouted at him by a stranger, and he freezes without turning towards you
○ The third year he'd been talking to is Kuroo, who immediately realizes that you probably didn't mean to come off as some weird fan, that you're just as surprised as Kenma to have found a random online entity AT SCHOOL, and he laughs at the absurdity
○ Thankfully, Kuroo diffuses the awkward situation by addressing you instead and segueing into including you in the conversation about the game you clearly have in common
○ It's Kuroo who goes and finds out what class you're in and encourages Kenma to go make friends with someone IRL that has a common interest unrelated to volleyball
○ Kenma is hella reluctant and shy, but you eventually trade game IDs and add each other to your friends lists; you appreciate his seasoned assistance that makes playing more fun while he appreciates having a reliable daily quest partner and squad member
