--------------------------------------------------------------------

Karasuno

○ Sawamura: Salt and ocean, clean and scrubbed, at once natural and decidedly almost tropical but managing to remain neutral. Imagine the slight spray you get splashed with when standing on a breezy pier in early spring when it's still too cold to swim, but warm enough to have a meal outside.

○ Sugawara: Suga smells like that one friend's room you love to hang out in. Decidedly comfortable and recently-washed sheets, warm air blown from their laptop's cooling fan, a little bit of the cut fruit you were snacking on, and a smidge of their hairspray that had landed on the bed. You could easily get wildly riled up in it, or just fall asleep. Somehow, his scent never actually changes, but the effect it has does based on his mood.

○ Hinata: It sounds corny, but he really does smell like oranges. His orange can be soft and washed in sweet whipped cream, frighteningly sharp and acidic, friendly and candied, or literally just plain, fresh zest. It's adaptable and everyone likes it because at some point, it's attractive to anyone's taste.

○ Kageyama: No, he does not smell like freaking milk or yogurt. His scent does smell icy and dark, a little sharper and perhaps slightly metallic under his preferred cologne, but definitely more outdoorsy. That smell when on a runner's high at the park at night when you sprint past a fountain? The one you have in the back of your throat while the cold air burns your windpipe? That smell. It's almost more of a taste than it is a scent.

○ Tsukishima: Surprisingly, Kei's natural scent doesn't seem to match his outward personality, and it's mostly because it's coconut-based. He does hover more around the woody husk part of it, sometimes dampened in a more depressing and wet tropical rainforest floor, but the rest of the time it's clearer and watery. He prefers to add something heavier to it (like a plain hand cream or some kind of alcohol) to prevent people from leaning in and asking questions, unable to place the generally unobtrusive scent.

Aoba Johsai
○ Oikawa: Smells like a high-end department store; slightly sweet, slightly fruity, slightly fresh, but his scent sticks easily and evokes a feeling of collected security.
○ Iwaizumi: Smells earthy, but in a manly way. Pine and sandalwood and petrichor. Musky and somehow warm, like a lush Studio Ghibli forest. You could definitely sleep comfortably wrapped in his scent.
○ Matsukawa: A little like cherry-chocolate, a little like a smoky dark rum, or at least a drier and more tannin-filled red wine. Mattsun is slightly intoxicating and draws people in. When flared in anger, he turns a bit sharper, more alcoholic.
○ Hanamaki: Champagne and strawberries. Makki's scent is distinct and clear, at once light and still very present. There is a slightly syrupy quality to the tinge of strawberry when he gets stressed out.

Nekoma
○ Kuroo: Like that amazing stiff treated leather-goods smell with a little bit of musk and an expensive and heavy wood desk. He occasionally sparks with a tinge of gunpowder when excited.
○ Kenma: Smells like apple cider. Warm, lightly spiced, refreshing, and sharp when necessary. When he's really happy, he actually turns slightly sugary and sparkling, a bit like Christmas.

Fukuroudani
○ Bokuto: His scent is a bit like charcoal and citrus, but in the smoky and flavorful way you'd grill the most amazing food. His smell easily evokes a feeling of trust, and fiery emotion. You can tell that if his scent gets into your skin, you'll never want to leave his presence.
○ Akaashi: A little like Oikawa, he smells noticeably high-end; there is a bit about him that is slightly more linen-y, a bit like a brand new hardcover book with the dust jacket removed and the feeling of the woven fabric taut across the cover creaking to its crisp and freshly printed pages.

Shiratorizawa
○ Ushijima: Something about him smells at once quite neutral and still strong and distinct; he comes across like fresh linens and a hint of salt and eucalyptus, though in a very clear and mineral way, sort of like damp, hot stones. An onsen. He smells like an onsen.
○ Shirabu: For all of his attitude and propensity to lecture, Kenjirou's scent is at once crisp, soft, and neutral, leaning more on the relaxed side. He smells like freshly-pressed hotel linens and that oatmeal-milk bar soap wrapped in paper on the bathroom counter.
○ Tendou: Like sour crunch candy, Tendou smells sweet and crackly, laced with a deceptively electric tang. He can melt into a more syrupy scent when relaxed and buttered up, and turns into a more tart amandine when he's concentrating. Satori often camouflages his scent with a thin layer of dark chocolate, not unlike some Christmas gummies.

Inarizaki
○ Kita: Like Ushijima, Kita's scent is clear and related to water, but smacks more of the lighter and more subtle fragrance of barley and a toasted, nutty tea over rice (ochazuke). His smell could remind oneself of winters cuddled under the kotatsu, belly full and the soft buzz of a TV show in the background while fresh snow flurries lightly outside the window.
○ Osamu: He smells exactly like Atsumu, but as if with a different interpretation or focus of the same scent. They both smell like sushi rice, but 'Samu smells more of the hangiri bowl that the rice is mixed in, a bit more woody and warm, the scent of steaming fresh rice prior to being seasoned, thick and seeped into the wood.
○ Atsumu: Again, smells like sushi rice, exactly like Osamu. 'Tsumu's scent has more of a taste to it though, a slightly salty and umami flavor from shoyu, a tiny tang from vinegar, and a fresh zing from a dab of wasabi just before a piece of fresh fish is added to the formed nigiri.
○ Suna: Although he gives an air of relaxation and nonchalance, Suna smells refreshing and a bit sharp; he smacks of mint and menthol. His scent is generally cold, perhaps a bit sweeter and candied when happy, and becoming smoky and burnt like menthol cigarettes when angry.

Itachiyama
○ Sakusa: It may be partially because of his meticulous and fastidious habits, but he smells very clean and refreshing, almost like clorihexidene and unscented detergent. There is a slightly sweet scent that touches the generally astringent taste it puts in one's mouth, and it changes to a neatly creased, but cottony linen when he is particularly comfortable. He's the kind of alpha that prefers to keep his scent hovering just below the smell of his shampoo (which is naturally, also a clean and refreshing scent, though a bit more familiar and suave).
○ Komori: His scent is warm and comforting, like baked goods at a cafe. There's a little kick in it with a coffee smell, sometimes deepened with a more chocolatey note and other times diluted and held back to an unreadable plain bagel instead. He almost never panics, but Komori's desperation smells noticeably burnt.
○ Iizuna: There's something remarkably familiar about how Iizuna smells, and it's likely because his scent hovers in the "commercial citrus" family. Think satsuma-scented hand gel that every single makeup counter offers in a multipack lineup, or that orange gum with Pocchaco on it from the Sanrio store that we've all tried once, or the fancy white chocolate with local tangerine zest in it that a hotel leaves on your pillow after you check in. It's always relatively light, inviting, and somehow rather polite.

Kamomedai
○ Hirugami: A lot of people associate cinnamon with cold seasons or dessert, but Sachirou smells more like cinnamon as a hard, dried bark than he does a spice. He can smell hot and spicy like movie candy, but more often than not, he errs on a more subtle woodsy-brandy scent than something reminiscent of a PSL.
○ Hoshiumi: Konpeito candy. Kourai smacks of crackly spun sugar with a hint of yuzu and apple. He literally smells like fun and whimsical memories of running around a festival as a child, and he still also manages to come off clean and fresh, like the freshly-washed jinbei you'd just taken off the clothesline before you'd gone to said festival.
○ Hakuba: Gao smells like the grown-up version of that one boy you definitely had a crush on early into first year of high school. Youthful, a little smudged with dirt or grass from the tumble he took when his friends crashed into him on the quad, but enthusiastic and kind of like a nicer variant of that popular teenage body spray. The one that was ozonic, aquatic, and a little bit amber and thankfully didn't sting your nose if he sweat through it.
