~Honey's POV~

Nick and I begin to gear up, preparing to take on the massive group of raiders holding the settlers hostage. It's a huge and risky mission, but we have to do this.

I clean and reload all of my weapons before stepping in to my suit of power armor. "Nick, I'm almost ready!" I call into the next room. Nick moseys in to my room, "I always wondered what you'd look like as a robot. Not too shabby." He laughs.

"You can hardly even tell us apart." I joke, trying to make light of the situation. I check everything one more time, ensuring I have more than enough ammunition and Stimpaks to carry us through this.

We start heading towards the settlement, and it seems as if the raiders knew we were coming. Bullets start flying at us, luckily missing us both. "Shit. Are you okay, Honey?" Nick asks me, obviously more worried than he should be. "Nick, I'm in a full suit of power armor. I'm okay," I halfway joke to him. "are you ready? Once we move, it's go time." Nick gives me a reassuring nod, though I can see his hesitation.

Nick and I push forward, shooting every raider we can. We continue moving to make our way to the settlers being held up.

"Alright, losers. It's time to let these people go," Nick shouts to the raiders. "I really don't want to kill any more of you than I already have today. Let's just make this easy for all parties." I shoot daggers at Nick, knowing he could just as easily be pissing them off as he is talking them down.

Minutes of silence pass, but it feels like hours. "It's too quiet," I say in a worried tone. "something's wrong, Nick. I can feel it." Nick looks at me cautiously, like he knows what I'm planning on doing. "Honey don't," he tries to warn me but I'm already making my way towards the doors of the building where the hostages are being held.

I walk in, faced with about thirteen guns fixed on my head. "I'm not here to kill anyone. I'm here to talk." I nervously set my Tesla Cannon on the floor in front of me and nudge it to my right. "I understand you need money, I do. But these people don't have 60,000 caps, and I don't think anyone else in the Commonwealth does either." I say confidently, but I can feel my voice tremble. "You need to let them go. They're all just trying to make a living like you are." My words hang in the air as the raiders seem to take my words into consideration.

"Nobody else has to die today, guys. Just walk out of here, and leave these people alone." I warn a final time. They thankfully lower their guns, and one of them speaks up. "You're lucky this time, lady. You'll wish you had paid up next time." A man says, and I have to stifle a laugh. "Alright guys. Get out of here." The group of raiders make their way outside, as I give Nick the all clear to join me.

We go tend to the settlers who have been beaten mercilessly, mending their wounds to the best of our abilities.

~Nick's POV~

"Honey don't," Goddamn it. She's so fucking stubborn. I can't help but to be a sitting duck while my Honey is in there, doing God only knows what.

Hours seem to pass by before I see no good raider scum bags shuffle out of the building, and Honey giving me the all clear to enter.

Honey and I patch up the wounded settlers, and make our way back home to Diamond City. "That was incredibly fucking stupid, Y/N." I say, slamming my pistol down on the desk. "What, Nick? You continuing to think I'm some helpless woman that can't hold her own?" She snaps back at me. She steps out of her power armor and up to me with no hesitation. "I can do this Nick. I'm not a fucking damsel in distress." Her words sting, but I let her continue.

"I can fight. I can kill. I can defend myself for fucks sake, so why is it that you think I can't?" She spits at me. "Honey I know you can take care of yourself. Hell, you're probably a better shot than me. I just get so scared at the thought of you getting hurt."

"Have a good night, Valentine. I'm going home." She slams the door on her way out. "Goodnight, Honey."
