THE BOY hadn't meant to eavesdrop on THE GIRL's call, but he did.

A few minutes after Ridley's phone had interrupted their argument, Walker got up to use the bathroom. However, when he'd exited the room, he heard her voice. Peering around the corner, he spotted the girl, phone on speaker.

"A part?" She asked.

Walker, purely out of curiosity, hid behind the corner, listening.

"Yeah. It's a big one. And when I mean big, I mean Steven Spielberg big."

Walker blinked. The only upcoming Spielberg movie he knew was the one he was co-starring in. There was a female lead position which was open, as the casting directors hadn't been satisfied with the auditions so far. The agent couldn't be suggesting Ridley play that part.

"You're kidding. And there's...there's a role I could play?"

"More than play. I think you'd excel at it."

It wasn't that Walker hated Ridley. He just didn't like her. She was so uptight about everything he said (but, then again, riling her up was really fun). And the feeling was mutual.

The two constantly bickered in any situation and, whenever someone tried to get them to stop, neither would listen. He knew Ridley and him in one working environment wouldn't be a good idea.

"You're...you're kidding. That's amazing. I—"

"There's one issue, though." The agent interrupted. "Shouldn't be too big, but I should let you know. Walker Scobell is playing as the role's co-star."

"Oh. You're kidding." Ridley sounded incredibly less taken with the part. Walker snorted. "Alright, well, I'm at Charlie's birthday party right now, but I'll speak to you later about it?"

"Great. See you."

Ridley hung up, right as Walker rushed around the corner. He couldn't let Ridley audition.

"What are you-"

"You can't audition for the movie."

"I can do whatever the hell I want. And why the hell were you listening into my call? It's my business."

"No, genuinely. Think about it." He crossed his arms. "Us? In a working environment?"

"You're-"

"Look." Walker stepped forward. "I know you can do it. I don't have any doubts about that. You audition, you'll automatically get the part."

She reddened. So she gets flustered by compliments, he thought.

"But us? Chemistry? As someone who's read the script, the chemistry between the two characters is vital. Us together is another story. Maybe we can get it together for a chemistry test, but a whole film- we're not going to be able to last that. Not only will we probably mess up takes, we'll endanger both of our roles in the film and in the industry in general. If word gets out that we're unprofessional or can't do our jobs correctly..."

She rolled her eyes.

"Maybe so, but why me? Why can't you just drop from the project? It's Steven Spielberg. I might never even get this chance again."

"You know I'm already casted. And you can wait to get an even better role. You're good enough to. At least we don't risk messing the production up."

"This is so stupid." She muttered.

Walker shrugged.

"It's what needs to happen."
