Before beginning this story, note that there will be two stages. First would be the stage where Yibo is still very young and then the second would be after he became an adult. There would be time loop in this book. And please i would suggest you to not skip a chapter so we can learn how our two future couples got closer before yibo apparently would have to separate from the other for quite an amount of time.
I promise you this book would be very interesting and you won't be bored. I'll make sure to add sweetness in all chapters cuz I believe my dear readers would want couple moments between zhan and yibo. Don't get nosy guys, yibo is still very young for such but I'll do add some sweetness. Trust me 😜😜
So...here it is. Please don't forget to vote and follow.
The warm evening sun cast a golden glow over the bustling streets of the city, the gentle breeze carrying the sweet scent of blooming flowers. The sky transformed into a canvas of pink, orange, and purple hues, a breathtaking sunset that signaled the end of another day.
In a small, unassuming alleyway, a humble restaurant, "Hong's Haven," stood nestled between a vintage clothing store and a second-hand bookstore. The faded sign creaked in the gentle wind, and the dimly lit interior seemed to whisper tales of its own. Xiao Zhan, an eighteen years old. His dark hair mussed from a long day of work, methodically wiped down the tables, his Converse shoes scuffling against the worn floor.
As he finished cleaning a table, his coworker, Lee Wen, approached him, already dressed in his street clothes. "I'm outta here, Zhan. See you tomorrow!" Xiao Zhan looked up, his bright eyes sparkling with a warm smile. "Bye, Lee Wen! Have a good night!"
After completing his tasks, Xiao Zhan gathered his belongings and bowed respectfully to the restaurant owner, Ah-Hong, a kind-hearted woman with a perpetual smile and a wild shock of curly hair. "Goodnight, Ah-Hong. Thank you for the opportunity to work here." Ah-Hong looked up from her perch behind the cash desk, her eyes crinkling at the corners.
"Goodnight, Xiao Zhan. You're a hard worker. Don't forget to take care of yourself, okay? And don't be late for your shift tomorrow!"
Xiao Zhan chuckled, his bunny teeth gleaming in the dim light. "I won't, Ah-Hong. I promise." He slung his backpack over his shoulder and pushed open the creaky door, stepping out into the balmy night air.
Xiao Zhan's thoughts wandered back to his childhood, a time of laughter, tears, and boundless energy. He had grown up in the Loving Care Orphanage, a small, humble building on the outskirts of the city, where Director Li and her team had provided a safe haven for a dozen children.
Memories flooded his mind: chasing after butterflies in the courtyard, playing pranks on his best friend, Lingling, and snuggling up to Director Li for bedtime stories. He had been a curious and adventurous child, always eager to learn and explore, with a mop of messy dark hair and eyes that sparkled like the stars.
But life had taken a cruel turn when the orphanage faced financial struggles and was forced to close its doors. Xiao Zhan, just 15, found himself alone and adrift, with no family, no home, and no direction. He had to rely on his wit, determination, and resourcefulness to survive.
He worked odd jobs to make ends meet, from delivering newspapers to helping at a local market. He slept on friends' couches, in parks, and even on the streets, never losing hope that a better tomorrow would come. And when he finally rented a small one room apartment to call his own, he knew he had turned a corner.
Though life had been tough, Xiao Zhan's childhood had taught him the value of resilience, the power of hope, and the importance of holding on to love and kindness. As he walked home under the starry sky, he knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, he was ready to face them head-on.
