Zhan hurriedly rushed towards the entrance of his restaurant, his heart racing with anxiety and fear. As he approach the doors, he was met with a sight that made his blood boil. Two massive cars were parked in front of his restaurant, their sleek black exteriors gleaming in the light. Suited men stood guard next to the entrance, their eyes fixed on him with a cold intensity.

Clenching his fists in anger, Zhan strode forward, his eyes blazing with fury. The men gave way for him, parting like a curtain to let him pass. As he entered the restaurant, he was met with a scene that made his heart sink. Jingyi was standing at a corner, his face abit bloody and swollen, while Huaisang was being held at gunpoint by one of the guards. Xuan Lu was standing nearby, her eyes fixed on the seated man with a look of pure hatred.

Zhan’s eyes scanned the room, taking in the scene before him. He nodded at the others as if to ask if they were fine, and they shook their heads in response. His approaching footsteps were heard by the seated man, who stood up and grinned, his hand stretching forward in a gesture of greeting.

“Ah, Zhan, delighted to finally meet you,” the man said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “My name is Wen Chao.”

But Zhan was in no mood for pleasantries. He ignored the proffered handshake and asked directly, “What are you doing in my restaurant, and what’s the meaning of this nonsense?” His voice was firm and commanding, his eyes fixed on Wen Chao with a fierce intensity.

The man's sudden laughter was like a cold, mirthless sound, sending shivers down Zhan’s spine. His eyes gleamed with a sinister intensity, his voice dripping with malice. “Zhan…Zhan…I never thought Heesung had such a good taste in men,” he sneered, his words hanging in the air like a challenge.

Zhan’s face darkened, his eyes flashing with anger. He took two steps back, his hands clenched into fists, as if preparing for battle. “What can i help you with?” he growled, his voice low and menacing.

Wen Chao sighed, his expression a mask of boredom. “Nothing, really. I just want to tell you to get out of my restaurant. Your husband owes me a lot of money, and I told him that in exchange for the balance, it’s either I take his life…or this magnificent place.” His eyes roamed the restaurant, as if appraising its value, before settling back on Zhan.

Zhan’s eyes widened in horror, his mind racing with the implications. Heesung, in debt to this monster? It couldn’t be true. But Wen Chao’s words were laced with a sinister conviction, a cold calculation that sent shivers down Zhan’s spine.

The man's voice was like a snake slithering through the grass, his words dripping with malice. “As you know, we humans are selfish and don’t want to die. So, of course, it’s normal for him to choose this place…right, Xiao Zhan?” His eyes glinted with a knowing spark, as if he knew a secret that Zhan didn’t.

Zhan’s face twisted in disgust, his lips curling into a snarl. He took another step back, his eyes fixed on Wen Chao with a fierce intensity. “You…you bastard,” he spat, his voice barely above a whisper. “You think you can just waltz in here, make threats, and expect me to roll over? You’re sadly mistaken, Wen Chao.”

Wen Chao’s smirk grew wider, his eyes glinting with triumph, as he nodded subtly to someone behind Zhan. The door swung open, and a man in a tailored suit walked in, his eyes fixed on Zhan with a professional intensity. Lawyer Ryder’s presence was imposing, his confidence and authority palpable.
“Hello, I’m Lawyer Ryder,” he said, his voice smooth and confident, as he handed Zhan a business card. His eyes never left Zhan’s face, his gaze piercing and unyielding. “I represent the investment firm of Redwood Capital, and I’m here to facilitate a transaction.” The card was crisp and new, the logo of Redwood Capital embossed in silver.
