Freen's POV

The morning sunlight filtered through the school gates as I approached it with excitement and nervousness. Today marked the beginning of something new with Becky, and every step felt charged with possibility.

I had told her last night she could go ahead without me because I needed to buy something first. So upon arrival, I scanned the courtyard expecting she was already here.

Near the gymnasium door, I spotted Becky surrounded by Nam, Heng, and Billy. Her face lit up when our eyes met, and I couldn't help but grin in return. Taking a deep breath to steady myself, I strode over to join them.

"Morning, everyone," I greeted, my eyes lingering on Becky, who had a gentle blush dusting her cheeks.

"Morning, Freen," Becky replied softly, her smile widening.

Nam, always quick with a tease, raised an eyebrow knowingly. "Looks like someone's got that 'new beginning' glow," she teased, nudging Heng playfully.

Heng chuckled. "Yeah, must've been quite the inspiring night," he added with a wink.

Trying to keep my composure, I grinned back. "You could say that," I said, stealing a glance at Becky.

Billy chimed in cheerfully, clapping his hands. "Ah, young love! Let's finish this practice and get to enjoying our last days of freedom!"

We went inside the gymnasium, and amid laughter and chatter, I found myself lost in thought.

I mused silently, stealing glances at Becky. "I need to show her how much she means to me, and that I'll always be here for her."

During graduation practice, as we lined up, trying to follow Mrs. Jenkins' strict instructions, I couldn't help but steal glances at Becky. She was diligently adjusting her cap, her concentration so intense that she almost looked like she was preparing for a space mission rather than a graduation march.

"She's so serious and cute," I murmured, looking at her with admiration.

Out of nowhere, Nam, the resident joker of our class, noticed my furtive glances. With a knowing smirk, she nudged Heng beside her and raised an eyebrow suggestively. "Looks like Freen's got a crush on someone," she announced loudly, making several nearby classmates turn their heads.

My face turned red as I fumbled for words, trying to play it cool. "Hey Nam, what are you doing?" I stammered, hoping to deflect the attention away from Becky.

But Billy, always the supportive friend, chimed in with a grin. "Come on, Freen. We all know you've been mooning over someone lately. Name starts with B as in Becky!"

Nam and Heng exchanged amused glances, clearly enjoying the spectacle they had unwittingly created. Becky, bless her heart, tried to suppress a smile behind her hand, clearly finding the situation amusing.

Feeling both embarrassed and strangely relieved, I glanced at Becky, who was now looking at me with a mixture of curiosity and a touch of warmth. Gathering my courage, I shrugged and grinned sheepishly. "Alright, alright," I admitted, feeling the weight of the revelation lift off my shoulders. "Maybe I've been a little... distracted by someone lately." I said while looking at her.

This prompted a chorus of teasing and laughter from our classmates, who were now all in on the joke. Mrs. Jenkins, sensing the commotion, tried to restore order, with amused expression on her face.

Amidst the laughter and gentle teasing, I caught Becky's eye. She gave me a playful wink and a shy smile, her cheeks tinged with a hint of pink.

I realized that maybe my feelings for Becky weren't as secret as I thought—and perhaps that was okay.
