chapter 14

(Mike Pov)
My face heated up. That was weird. Why would Dustin think that?

Probably because I did say partner.

"Yeah but it wasn't a big deal." I shrug. I swear I see Wills face light up. Dustin smirked.

"Well it worked didn't it?" I say sarcastically rolling my eyes.

Will looked down at his arms. "You okay?" I asked concern welling up in my eyes.

He smiled. A fake smile. "All good."

Something wasn't right. I should probably ask about it later.

(Will Pov)
"Okay everyone time to leave." The nurse announced to the party.

She turns and nods and Mike who nods back. The party left and it was just me and Mike.

"Whats wrong?" He asked. It was a question I couldn't avoid.

"Y-you said-." I shouldn't say this. But it had to be brought up sometime.

"You said you loved me." I say.

My breath turns fast and the heart monitor beeps faster.

Mike gently grabbed my hand. "Im sorry." He says gently.

I nod not wanting to say anything. This moment could last forever. "Move over a bit." Mike said and carefully made his way into my bed.

I lean back into his chest feeling safe and loved. I haven't felt like this in a while.

I started to cry burrowing my head deep into Mikes shoulder. "Why me Mike." I said between shaky breaths.

"Because you're strong." He says calmly. "You're  amazing."

I cry harder. He places his head on top of mine.

"Shhh." I don't think I have ever seen Mike this calm.

He places an arm around me pulling me closer into the hug.

"I meant it Will." I knew what he meant. The I love you.

I nod my breaths evening out. I shut my eyes and drift off into a deep sleep.

I open my eyes. I didn't have a clock in my room so I couldn't tell what time it was.

I look over and Mike was gone.

I sit up wincing because of my arms. A laugh echos around the room.

It's him.

"He was feeling pity William." I hated how he used my real name.

"You have 3 days." He spoke. "Im getting bored." "Not my problem." I muttered.

He starts to choke me. I struggle for breath.  "Don't talk back to me." My father's voice echoed around the room.

"Have fun." He chuckles and releases me.

I awake and Mike is sitting up in concern. I touch my face. He looks at me knowingly and I nod. "We have 3 days Mike."

"He is going to destroy the world."

(Mike Pov)
The party came around again and me and Will were ready.

He was getting released tomorrow. They all stumbled in.

This time Max came wheeling in also.

When everyone sat down I glanced at Will. He nods.

"T-the reason I want to t-talk with you is."

He looks at me with worry in his eyes. I shoot a quick glance towards the party.

"We have 3 days." Everyone looks around confused.

"Context please." Max says.

"Vecna told me last night that he would e-end the world if we don't try and stop h-him.

Wills eyes started to fill with tears thinking back to the memory.

"We have a plan." Dustin says. "We just have to put it in action."

"Yeah no crap sherlock." Max said rolling her eyes.

Lucas's eyes lit up. "Remember that place we got all our stuff to fight vecna the first time?"

Everyone says yes and me and Will just shrug.

"Mike you said fire right?" I nod.

"We should go back to the basics." Lucas says nodding his head.

Everyone is confused until Max goes. "Lucas, no-."

"Fireworks!"

I slap my face with my hand. Will of course grabs it and places it down again.

"It worked on the mind flayer." He said.

Dustin nodded.

"Yeah Lucas! The mind flayer snaps peoples bones and makes their eyes bleed!"

He rolled his eyes. I glance at my watch. "Can we all meet back at Wills tomorrow?" I say looking around.

Everyone nods. "Perfect."

As if on time the nurse walks in and tells them to leave.

I look over at Will. "Everything's going to be okay." I say rubbing his back.

"Mike Im going to die." He states calmly.

"Max is just seeing th-." "No Mike." He cuts me off.

"A piece of the upside down is still in me. When or if you kill venca I would die with it." His eyes fill up with tears.

"I wont let that happen." "How Mike?" He said his voice raising slightly.

"I-im not sure but I can't let you go yet." I take his hand. "Now come on let's get some rest."

He nods and slightly moves over to make room for me.

"Night Byers." I say back facing him. "Night Wheeler."

After 5 minutes I feel Will shaking.

He's been crying a lot lately. I flip over and wrap my body around his.

Big spoon little spoon.

"Crazy together Byers." I whisper.

He presses deeper into my stomach and his breathing steadies out.

We have to be ready for this fight.

I shut my eyes and drift off into a light sleep.

(A/N) can anyone tell im losing my motivation to post. dw im gonna finish the book but its getting harder to think of ideas. stay safe ml <33
