he followed her mother through the hospital and into the icu. it was larger than the other wards but there were a lot more machines and stressed nurses. he let out a little sob when he saw her. he pulled over a chair and took her hand. "you scared me at first," he said, "but you always protected me. you're the strongest person i know."
