Hadrien POV

I sat with the other four champions inside our tent. We would be waiting for the task to start, and all the others were nervous. I knew that the task was about dragons, and I knew that the others knew as well.

I wasn't really worried. Dragons were indeed powerful creatures, but the tribe had always hunted dragons who came too close to our home, and there were a lot of spells that were effective on dragons, and since they were so big, they were an easy target. I turned to look at Henry, and I saw that he was looking very arrogant. He was probably going to tell the dragon his name and hope that it would bow to him or something stupid like that.

And then it was time. Bagman came in with a purple silk sack. "Champions! It is time. I'm going to be offering each of you this bag, from which you will each select a small model of the thing you are about to face! There are different varieties, you see. And I have to tell you something else too. . . Ah, yes. . Your task is to collect the golden egg!"

Bagman turned to Fleur and offered her the bag. "Lady's first." Fleur swallowed and went with her hand in the bag to take one of the models. She took out a Welsh green with the number 2 on its neck. Krum took out the Chinese fireball with the number 3. Cedric was the Swedish shortshout, and he would be going first. Henry took out the Hungarian horntail with the number four. He looked extremely arrogant as he took the dragon, and I was going to enjoy hearing him scream.

Then Bagman turned to me. He glared a little at me and offered me the bag. I took out the last dragon, a Hebridian black, without losing eye contact with him, and it was making him nervous.
Soon after that, Cedric left and started his task. I looked around again and saw that the others were becoming more and more nervous as no one else was called in.

I almost started to laugh at their faces as they started to get more and more nervous as they heard the crowd yell and go craze, as well as the comments of Bagman. I must admit that the comments would make anyone nervous if they didn't have a plan they knew would work.

That said, I had no plan. I was going to attack the beast and kill it, simple as that. I was going to make the beast cry out and destroy it with spell after spell. And then it was done. Fleur went next, and Krum after that.

When only Henry and I remained, he turned to me. "You know, I can give you some pointers now that only the two of us are here. Everyone knows you will need them." I gave him a predatory smile. "Don't worry about me. Some fire-breathing lizard is not going to kill me."

He looked taken aback by my answer but turned away. Then Krum was done, and Henry was called. I watched as Henry walked towards the entrance of the arena with arrogance in his steps, and a few seconds after I saw him disappear, I heard him scream. The scream was one of fear, and I shook my head. To think that that idiot was going to advise me.

I listened as Bagman gave comments about what Henry was doing, and it was not good. So far, Henry had only made the dragon angry, and I heard that the dragon even managed to hit him with its tail, doing a lot of damage. It was so bad that the handlers almost had to enter the arena to take down the dragon and rescue Henry. The boy had only just managed to get back up and try to take the egg again.

Ten minutes later, the idiot had managed to get the egg one way or another. Although it had almost been too late, I heard Bagman say that Henry wasn't looking so good, and a few seconds after that, the medics had to go get him out.

Eventually, I was called in. I stood up from where I sat and walked to the entrance of the arena with confidence. I stood on the sand of the arena and looked around it. I saw the dragon on the other side of the arena, looking at me. It was sizing me up. I smiled and started my preparations.
