Driving back to Hols' Berry, I think back to the incident. I should probably ask Mia since she might know. "Hey, Mia?" I ask her, getting her and everyone else's attention, "Yes Mako?" Mia tilts her head, waiting for my question. "Earlier this morning, OI saw a man running from a woman, but what's weird is that when he tried to scream for help, nobody could hear him. Could you explain that to me?" Mia then puts a finger to her chin, "I think I get what you mean," she starts, "those of us in the rogue or assassin class have the ability to mute people, depending on our level it can range from a few minutes to about a week." I am taken aback by the duration of the mute ability, 'Seesh, who would need to be muted for a week? Unless it's some bozo yapping about his evidence to support his argument I'd understand but otherwise who else?' Heron says, "Mute is a stealth ability likely meaning that the woman who was chasing that man is from a stealthy subclass of rogue, similar to Mia."

"Although it doesn't make sense why there would be one in Hols' Berry, we're a neutral town in this war. I wonder what they were up to?" My suspicions seem to ally with Bella's suspicions as well. I can not ignore them and speak up. "Alright, mates, listen up, yeah? Somethin' suspicious is going down in Hols' Berry. We'll figure it out after we drop off the tablet at the guild. But remember to keep an eye out on our surroundings and scan everything twice. There could be some clues hidden in plain sight." Thirty minutes later, we pass through the entrance to Hols' Berry. I begin scanning the surroundings, turning off my X-ray to make catching roof-top anomalies besides birds or the occasional wyvern easier. I park next to the guild, and my teammates disembark to drop off the tablet. "Wait!" I called out, but they stopped and looked at me. "I need to give you something." My teammates come back to me again; I then use my system to pick all four of them and give them an earpiece. The piece materializes on their ears as they feel it; it's time to test it. "Testing, testing, can you hear me?" Bella, Heather, Heron, and Mia go wide-eyed at the revelation. "Oh... my... gosh... SO COOL!" Heather exclaims, "I can see this thing coming in handy." Heron comments. "Don't scare me like that, I hate jump-scares. So cheap." Bella pouts. "Amazing, I can hear your voice without you talking." After they settle down, I pipe up, "These things are called earpieces; they'll allow me to communicate with you whenever you're in places I can not go. Now you may go." My team bid me farewell as they dropped the tablet in the guild. After they leave, I continue to scan my area, but I get a hunch that I am also being watched, not by the crowd's eyes but by someone else, and this gaze doesn't feel too friendly either.

??? POV

There it is, the very thing that got one of our own arrested. No one is around now, meaning this would be the perfect time to destroy it. "Get ready, fellas. We're gonna rip that thing apart and sell the pieces for a fortune each." I smirk wickedly under my mask. We spring into action, landing all around the thing, but it's noticed us already and has primed its weapons. Its small head and long snouts turned to face us. Then, it spoke, "Ah, so you all must be the friends of that one person I got behind bars, yeah?" Its voice had a funny accent to it, but no matter. "We're here to tear you apart, bit. by. bit."

"Enough with the chat chit. Let's  foight already!" It yells as its snouts breathed a blue light, and instantly, the dust began kicking up in the air; one of my comrades turned into a red mist, and the others near him got grave injuries. I only stand there in shock. I turn to the thing as it then rams down two of my other comrades, flattening them into paste. "I turn to the remainder of my team and we prepare a combined attack. A large swathe of super-hot and super sharp blades comes barreling down on the beast, each one exploding with ferocious power. But when the dust cleared, it was still standing... with a bit of chipped paint. "That all ya got?" It asked mockingly as a sound began to play, one of dread and fury.

Without warning, the thing reversed into us, taking down two more of my comrades; with only three of us left, we had to escape from it; we had to tell the others what this could do. It is a force to be reckoned with. We run as fast we can with the beast not far behind, matching our speed; it's toying with us. It can run us down, but this one is smart. It wants to know where we're hiding, I can't let that happen. My comrades and I duck into an alley, "Guys, we need to split up! If that thing follow us back our operation is busted!" One of them looks at me ith a worried face, he's Joe, a new rookie and this is what his first job is, poor guy. "That th- thing is out there, it's going to hunt us down." I simply nod to my other comrade Zoe, a seasoned veteran from the Kitsunes. She nods back and bounds over the building rooftops to try and lose the silver demon as I turn to look at Joe, "Listen Joe, we need to get this information back to them, trust me, we'll make it back, all three of us." I then hear the sound of the demon approaching, there's not much time, it knows where we are. "Quick! Go! I'll distract it!" Joe looks at me one last time before also jumping to the rooftops to get away from here; 'Time to face the demon.' I think while running out of the alley and in the path of the creature. "Hey!" I call out, getting the attention of the silver thing. "There you are!" Its voice roars as it barrels towards me. I jump to the rooftop as well. The silver demon stops and looks up at me. I am not risking it being able to attack me from here, so I start jumping from rooftop to rooftop. "You're getting away from me!" It yells. I continue jumping from rooftop to rooftop, the beast always being just below. I try so hard to focus on where I'm jumping, but I can't help but steal a glance at the demon. It's still there, expertly dodging civilians, carts, and animals alike while keeping pace; I caught it right as it "jumped" over another cart. Unfortunately I lose my footing and fall onto the ground below, feeling dizzy and losing consciousness I hear the demon screech to a halt in front of me. The last words I hear are, "Got you, you slippery lil' tuna." and everything goes black.

Heather POV

We get back from the guild only to realize Mako is not here. Instead, these red stains are on the ground, and the air smells like blood. I then hear a faint noise getting louder, and then came an unmistakable sound.

Turning to look, John returns, although some of his wheels have blood on them, and there are some scratches to his "paint job," as he calls it. "John! Where did you go?!" Bella asked worriedly. "Sorry, I had to go on a bit of a wild goose chase, but it was worth it for the result, check the inside." The hatches open up as we climb inside. There, in one of the seats, is another assassin restrained by a harness. "This guy has connections to the group that girl was from. Anyone here good at interrogations?" I smile wickedly. "Oh, it's been a long time~." Heron has gone to get Jack to set up a room. This will be the most fun I've had in a while.
