Chapter 1: Mink

Mink stared up at the giant mountain looming above her. Not just any mountain though. This was Jade Mountain Academy, the place she would be staying for the next year. All. Alone. "Hey Mink! What are you staring at?" said Polar Bear. Oh right! Not totally alone. She was here with her two best friends in the whole world: Polar Bear and— "Mink! Come on, let's go! You said you were more excited than any dragon has ever been in their whole life on the flight here, and now you look like the mountain just took every single one of your ice sculptures you have ever made EVER and slowly chipped them away with a pickaxe one by one with you being forced to watch until all of them are gone!" chimed in her other best friend, Subzero. Do I really look like that?  Mink thought to herself. As she fixed her face, she realized that they were one of the first ones here, which was impressive and strange at the same time as they were one of the farther tribes from the mountain. Which I guess makes sense since we left so early.  She fixed her face quickly, and then replied "Ok. Yeah, Sorry." Subzero thought about that for a moment. "Hmmmm. It's OK. Only if you can beat me to Fatespeaker that is." he said while sprinting off. "HEY! NO FAIR!" Mink yelled after him. She looked back to see Polar Bear laughing hard as she took off towards the NightWing at the entrance to the school. As she turned back around, she had no time to react before she crashed into a set of black scales landing on the mountain. She looked to see if the NightWing was OK. Oh, I hope they're OK! I cannot believe myself! Running headfirst into one of the first NightWings I have ever met!  Mink thought angrily at herself. "Sorry! Sorry!" said the unfamiliar NightWing. "I should have been watching where I was flying. Wait! Ohhhhhhhhhhhh. That's what that vision I had was about. OK, cool. Oh my name's Jewel-Eyes, but you can call me Jewel. What's yours? And yes I am a seer." Mink was still having a hard time comprehending the first half of what she said. She finally responded when she realized Jewel-Eyes was staring at her. "Oh! Sorry! My name is Mink. Nice to meet you Jewel!" before Jewel could say something else she heard Subzero yelling from up ahead saying "MINK!!! WHERE DID YOU GO!?!?" Oh right! I forgot about that for a minute. Mink thought. "Oh, sorry. I need to catch up with my friends. See you around Jewel!" she said, and then she ran towards the sound of Subzero and Polar Bear's voices.

Hello! This is my very first story on Wattpad, and I'd say this is nice! I have written some other Wings of Fire fanfics in my journal, including the draft for this chapter.
