42. The Reason

Author's POV -

Maanveer went straight to his office after returning from the USA a few hours ago.

He had his eyes closed as he sat in his cabin. His facial expression was incomprehensible. perhaps he was recalling a memory from the past.

flashback :-

Maan spent more than twenty days in the hospital following surgery. It was all going as smoothly as butter. Niharika was lovingly and caringly tending to him. Shreya was also discharged from the hospital. The Khanna and Rajvanshi families traveled to Mumbai at their residence.

The only person residing in Pune with Maanveer and Niharika was Vivaan. Day by day, Niharika and Maanveer grow more at ease with one another. The doctor confirmed Maanveer's discharge after twenty days. Vivaan handled all of the formalities, and they spent two days at Niharika's parents' house because they wanted to.

Today is the day to leave for Mumbai. However, Niharika received a call from the hospital requesting that she collect Maanveer's medical reports. So she went there to get his reports.

Up until that point, everything was good. Niharika was pleased to think about how they would live their lives for eternity, but her smile faded when she saw the person she had never wanted to see in front of her.

Priya appeared in front of her, holding her hand and saying, "It is been a long time no see, dear sister."

Hearing her, Niharika said nothing and moved to the other side because they both dislike each other.

But Priya gripped her hand tightly and took Niharika with her. She went outside the Garden and asked Niharika to sit in her car, but she refused.

Priya lost her temper and grabbed Niharika's hair tightly, saying, "Do not you dare to show me Mrs. Maanveer Rajvanshi's attitude; remember you stole this name from me."

"I am behaving like that because I am Mrs. Niharika Maanveer Rajvanshi," Niharika shoved her. And you left your marriage on your own; I did not take anything from you."

Hearing Niharika's tone, Priya was taken aback because Niharika had never responded to her questions before marriage, but now she has changed.

" Ohh. My dear sister, Leave your fantasy land behind. If I am not mistaken, your marriage contract is now over? "You are no longer Mrs. Maanveer Rajvanshi." Priya said, and Niharika realized their marriage contract had expired the day Maanveer took the bullet to save her.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she realized she had forgotten something so important. She is no longer known as Mrs. Maanveer Rajvanshi.
