~Elliot~
"I'm okay Quinn." I said slowly going up the porch stairs with my crutches.
Quinn grunted, but took a step back. Using crutches with a broken arm is not fun, but I've been managing.
Quinn opened the front door for me and I hobbled inside.
"I set some stuff up for you in the living room." Quinn said, closing the door behind us.
I inched my way to the living room where Quinn had set out a few extra pillows and brought all the remotes and my drawing tablet down, placing them on the coffee table where I could easily reach from the couch. There was also a stack of my textbooks on the coffee table as well.
Missed homework. Great.
I plopped down onto the couch and lifted my leg so it rested on the small hill of pillows that Quinn had set out for me.
"I'll get you water and your pain meds." She said setting the rest of my stuff down. "Do you think you need anything else at the moment?"
"I'm okay Quinn, really." I said again with a smile. "This is really thoughtful."
She nodded and smiled. "Alright I'll be right back."
She headed back towards the kitchen. I heard Dad's voice from his office. Usually when the doors are closed you don't hear him as clearly, but I could hear my name every so often and the mentions of physical therapy.
Dad hasn't talked to me since he found out about baseball. I really wish there was a better way for him to have found out, but it happened. Quinn says he's been searching nonstop for ways to make sure my mobility is restored so I can play again, but honestly, I don't want it to.
Don't get me wrong, I'd never let the team down. I would've played this season, if the car accident hadn't happened, but with everything going on, now and me not really having a choice, I've decided to tell Dad about me majoring in graphic design. Actually telling him was the big thing.
Quinn returned with a glass of water and the pill bottle. She grabbed a coaster and placed the glass on the coffee table.
"Are you in pain now?" She asked
I shook my head. "I'm okay."
"Alright, well, take these as needed. If you need something stronger I still have the prescription, but I didn't think-"
"Quinn." I said looking at her. "I'm eighteen. I can take care of myself."
Quinn rubbed her hands together. "I know, just promise if you need anything you'll tell someone?"
I nodded. "Yes. I promise."
"Okay." She said with a relieved expression. "Oh and let me charge your headphones."
She went into my hospital bag and dug out my headphones. She ran upstairs to charge them. After a few minutes there was a knock and a ding of the doorbell.
I heard Quinn running down the stairs to grab it.
"Hello Miss, is Elliot Miller here?" I heard a deep voice ask.
"Are you here about the investigation?" Quinn asked.
There were footsteps behind me as Quinn led them to where I was.
"Yes. I have to get a written statement from Elliot." Said the same voice.
Two cops came into my view. The man, the one who spoke before, smiled at me.
