Chapter 6

-Miracle Astor-

After a quick breakfast, I was hurrying my way outside to get to the car before I got late to school again, but as soon as I got to the front doors, I was met by Damion, who was dressed in his usual pristine all-black business suit. He was busy typing something on his phone and looked like he had been waiting there by the door for some time.

That's weird. Damion's usually the first one who gets out of bed to immediately go to work. Why is he still here? Who or what is he waiting for?

"Good morning," I politely said to him, lowering my head as I passed him by, but to my surprise, my driver, Ray, and the car still weren't parked in front.

Am I being punished? Do I have to walk to school again?

"Good morning to you too, Mira. I excused Ray; I'm driving you to school," Damion said from behind me.

Oh.

He's never driven me before, not even Corbin.

"You too, Corby. I'm driving both of you to school."

I turned around and found Corbin already holding his helmet and looking confused as well.

"Why?" He asked the question I don't have the courage to ask. I only looked at our eldest brother in wonder.

"Is it weird for your brother to offer to drive you to school?" Damion rolled his eyes.

"Definitely. Hundred percent weird."

"Just get in the damn car before I change my mind and let you walk all the way to school," he grumbled.

"What if she walks all the way to school instead?" Corbin devilishly smirks as he glares at me.

I gulp the lump in my throat and quickly lowered my head.

"Just get inside, Corbin. Don't make me tell you again."

With an annoyed sigh that he wouldn't get to ride his most prized motorcycle to school, Corbin got inside the passenger seat of Damion's favorite black matte sports car. He then turned to look at me with a raised brow. My eyes widened for a moment before scurrying off to get inside the back seat. As soon as Damion got inside as well, off to school we went.

I do wonder what kind of angel has been possessing Damion this past week.

"Oh yeah, there's something I have to tell you both." Damion began while we were still stuck on red light.

"What is it?"

"I have a flight to London tonight; I have a business meeting there tomorrow, but I'll be back as soon as possible, so behave yourself, Corby." He immediately gave Corbin a daring look.

I would have easily peed in my pants if Damion looked at me like that, and I can say that because it did happen when I was eleven. Though he hasn't spoken to me for the past six years, his cold, piercing glare hurts more than words. My eldest brother is definitely a born natural leader; he only ever has to glare at his workers, and all of them would instantly follow him without any words, not to mention everything he sets his mind to all works out in his favor.

"Yeah, yeah. How about Max and Drix?"

"Both of them are in Manhattan for the New York fashion week to support their girlfriends, both modeling there," he replies, starting the engine again as the light turned green.

Well, not only do the twins have identical features, but they are also mostly identical in their interests, like their type of women. Once, they were in a relationship with a set of identical twin girls too.
