"Skyler!" A voice yelled from outside the office.

"Whatever you think I did, I promise I probably did it." I yelled back, not actually knowing who it was.

"Is it going to be Mason next?" Chad asked as he came back into the room.

"Huh?" I asked.

"First Jamie, now Trevor, is it Mason in your household that's going to get injured next? Because no offence, I think everyone here would rather it a little bit more if it was you and not another one of our young kids."

"What the fuck does that mean?" I asked him.

"It means that you need to do everything in your power to keep Mason healthy. Those three are our core." Chad said.

"Okay, Chad, I'll do my best. Is there anything else I can help you with?" He stared at me, not saying a word. I stared right back at him, not even knowing what to say. "You know I have work to do, right? I would love to keep having this staring competition, but I think you have work to do too." I said, turning my head down and going back to writing my notes.

I took over for event management this season unexpectedly. Jordan and Mera, the assistant managers both got fired. Kris, the manager of events and special projects, figured with the amount of stuff that I run, they could save money by laying those two off and just putting all that work on my plate. Which honestly is fair, I frankly don't have a whole love of work to do per day and it's been kind of nice having a full schedule all the time with everything I'm doing. But, it does mean I travel a little bit more. I've currently been organizing the entire Ducks Disney day, doesn't sound like it would be a lot of work to do, but it all needs to get done now, and why would anyone at Disney's events team answer me? And this is exactly why I need Chad to either get to the point of his visit, or leave me alone.

"When do you see Jamie next?" He asked.

"I don't know, tonight when I get home is the earliest I know of. Why?" I asked.

"I need to talk to him."

"So call him." I told him, looking at my computer screen.

"I don't have his number."

"How in the world do you not have his number? You've worked with him more than anyone else on this team in the past year."

"Besides you."

"Okay, that's different." I said, now looking up and dropping my pen onto the desk.

"Is it though?" He asked.

"Chad, don't live up to your name right now, don't be an asshole. I already had a shitty morning, I don't need a shitty afternoon too." I told him.

"What's that supposed to mean?" He asked, crossing his arms and leaning on the door frame.

"I've gotten enough shit within this team for my relationship, I don't need it from you too." I said and ran a finger through my hair.

"Damn, Sky, I wasn't saying it like that. I just meant that he's in your office more than he's anywhere else when no one needs him." I sighed and hung my head.

"Shit, Chad. I'm sorry. I just assumed." I said.

"Nah that's all good. I was going to tease you a bit about that, but all in good fun. Would you be able to call him and give me the phone or something?" Chad asked. Chad was always one of the supportive ones in the office, not that anyone other than Scott was unsupportive. Most of them were just concerned or cautious when I got hired. Chad was different, he was almost the biggest hype man, he was always there for it.
