chapter 2

Hadley pov

We arrived at Auradon Prep to a sight that left me and Harley stunned: our parents, dad and Mom, stood together, ready to escort us to the welcome party. The tension was palpable. Before I could react, Harley whispered,

"Brace yourself."

Inside, the opulence of Auradon was overwhelming. That's when I saw Red, the princess of Wonderland, and Chloe, Cinderella's daughter.

Red's aura was fierce, matching the stories of her mother, while Chloe radiated an unsettlingly sweet charm.

Our parents soon fell into a heated conversation with the Queen of Hearts and Cinderella. Their past grievances from Merlin Academy resurfaced, making the atmosphere even more uncomfortable. Fed up, I ran off and found Gavin with his mother, Gothel. Relief washed over me as I joined them for the ceremony.

Before it could start, my parents cornered me.

"Running away again, Hadley?" Mom sneered.

"You have no idea what it's been like," I snapped. "You weren't there while I was bullied and harassed for years!"

Harley, sensing the rising storm, stepped in.

"Leave him alone," she demanded. She led me to Gavin, whispering, "Stay with him until this is over."

That's when I met Elaine, Elsa's daughter. Her icy presence was oddly calming amidst the chaos. As we settled, I felt a glimmer of hope for what this new chapter might bring.

As the ceremony began to start fairy godmother introduced Uma to the stage who put on a little show for us

What's my name Uma said

Uma! Her pirates said as Uma looked at us

That's principal Uma you and you better get it straight or you're walking the plank Uma said with a smile

She's joking fairy godmother said laughing nervously

Now, I never got the chance to go to auradon prep. But as its Captain I'm proud to be charging a new course into a bright future, beyond the old ways of heroes and villains. So in that spirit I like to welcome princess red of Wonderland, Hadley and Harley the princess and prince of underworld Uma said as people cheered

As I looked around I noticed red's mother playing with a deck of cards and by the look on red's face that wasn't a good sign and apparently Uma noticed it too

"Excuse me" Uma said as the Queen of hearts looked at her "hi.  do you mind"

I do, actually. The queen said as she stood up

Mom what are you doing? Red asked

Playing my favorite game. War the queen said she threw the cards in the air turning the everything red and the cards turned into soldiers

Uma was quick to start fighting the soldiers and fairy godmother tried to use her wand but nothing could stop what was happening and by the looks on my parents and Cinderella's face they were worried

Calm down you all act like you've never seen a coup before. The queen said as she got on stage

Mom, this is crazy. even for you red said

Crazy that is taking this long. I have been waiting years to be invited back into auradon. So thank you, Red you finally did something useful the queen said as red shook her head

I should have known this was never about me Red said with a hint of sadness in her voice

Everything I do is for you. The queen said

That was my invitation. My school. My life. Red said

Someday, you'll thank me. And we already seen the ending. Spoiler alert....We win. She said

"Stop it Bridget!" Cinderella said standing up and going towards the stage "you're better than this! This is too far. I know what happened was hard for you but that was ages ago"

It feels like yesterday to me. The queen said sounding hurt just thinking about whatever happened

It was a stupid prank. Cinderella said as the queen scoffed

Stupid, I could forgive. But humiliating a girl at her first dance, turning me into a monster in front of everyone. Now, that's just cruel. The queen said

Your right Cinderella said

"You didn't care then. You were off with your prince. Ooh, but you will now. You will all show me the respect I deserve" the queen said looking at Cinderella, my mom and dad who she had forced to stand alongside Cinderella "now kneel"

Hell no I'm the god of the underworld I ain't kneeling for no mortal dad said

And nether am I mom said as the queen looked at them angrily then turned her attention to Cinderella awaiting her answer

I will never kneel to a tyrant Cinderella said as the crowd gasped

They all denied a royal order. What do we do about that, darling the queen said looking at red

Look all you have to do is swear  allegiance. Is that so hard?  Red said

If it means compromising everything I stand for, yes. Cinderella said firmly as the queen nodded and looked at red

Who are you loyal to, red? Theses strangers...or your mother? The queen asked as red looked at her "now make me proud, for once."

Red didn't want to do this. I could tell and so could Cinderella but she should have kept her mouth shut because she opening it sealed her fate

Come on Bridget, even your daughter knows it's wrong. She can't do it. Cinderella said

I could see red's facial expression change yeah Cinderella should have kept her mouth shut.

Treason. They are guilty of treason. Red said

Exactly right, my dear. And that means off with theirhead! The queen said as the Crowd gasped and Chloe looked like she wanted to cry and me and Harley shared a look at the thought of our parents being beheaded

We watched has the soldiers took Cinderella and our parents away. I watched as Chloe kept calling her mom and how Cinderella kept telling her it would be ok and I looked over and saw dad looking at me and Harley while mom didn't give us a second thought

Suddenly my attention was caught seeing Chloe and red fighting and my sister helping red at something off Chloe's sword and being my sisters twin I went to help her and Gavin followed right behind me and Elaine came to help Chloe.

Suddenly I heard a click and suddenly a golden mist surrounded all of us and we appeared in the olden version of auradon prep

Harley I don't think we are in Kansas anymore I said looking around.
