Lexi is in shock as she picked up her phone to check the time. Instead she saw a notification from a unknown number. once she read the text she knew exactly who send it. She's in bed not moving, just staring at the text not knowing what to respond or if she even wants to respond. She confused as fuck.

'Hey lex, I'm so sorry for the way i acted towards you. I should have never kicked you out Please come back home so we can talk this out? dad'

It took him almost 5 months to realize he was wrong. why now? Why does he have to text her with a new number the day after she performed with colson? Is she overthinking this?

Colson is still sound asleep beside her, she doesn't want to wake him up but doesn't know what to do either. For now she's just ignoring the text and tries to go back to sleep, it's 6AM anyways and she went to bed 3 hours ago.

She can't get her mind off the text though. What does her dad see now that he didn't before? She turns and turns trying to fall back asleep but just can't. Groaning she gets out of bed to get some water and walk around the dark house to take her mind off the text.

Colson slowly wakes up by her movements and the sounds. Lexi walks downstairs quietly and turns on a small light. She didn't know colson is following her around the house, he wants to talk to her. He knows something is up otherwise she wouldn't just walk around the house this early in the morning.

"Baby?" He whispers as she sits down on kitchen bar. She jumps by the sound but turns around to see him, "hi" she whispers back.

Colson sits down beside her, "what's going on in that little head of yours?" He asks tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. Lexi has a lopsided smile on her face, "my dad. He texted me saying he's sorry and wants to talk" she explains. A soft expression plasters on colson's face, "do you want to talk to him?" He asks pulling her closer to him.

Lexi only shrugs, "did you reply yet?" Colson speaks. "No, i don't know what to say. If i want him back in my life. Ofcourse he's my dad but he always treated me like shit, especially since Jason passed" Lexi explains.

Colson feels like she never told him the intire story of her dad and her relationship. "What happened? You don't have to awnser if you don't want to baby" he assures her and kisses her forehead.

"You know he blamed me for Jason's death, right?" Colson nods in response letting her finish the story.

"He made sure i started believing it and hated myself for it. to the point he made me tell everyone around us who knew about Jason, that it was my fault"

Colson wipes the single tear rolling down her face. "Maybe it's good to hear him out. You don't have to believe him or forgive him, just let him talk" colson suggests after comforting her. Lexi nods "I think that's a good idea" a small smile forming on her face.

"Are you ready?" Colson asks as Lexi takes a deep breath walking towards the door. "Yeah, you're with me and my mom has my back. Besides, he's my dad in the end" Lexi sighs. colson grabs her shaking hand and rings the doorbell himself.

Lexi's mom opens the door with a wide smile, she pulls Lexi into a tight hug. As they let go Lexi stepped aside for colson "oh mom this is colson" Lexi says. "You must be the rockstar boyfriend huh?" Her mom asks, "that would be me, pleasure to meet you" colson laughs.

Lexi's mother takes them inside, colson squeezed Lexi hand assuring her it's okay. "Lexi" her father sighs standing up from the couch. Lexi nods "Nicholas" she replies coldly. Her father nods, he deserved that.

"Please sit, anyone want something to drink?" Eleanor, Lexi's mom, asks looking around with a smile. "No thank you" colson smile responding for both him and Lexi. "Are you really Lexi's boyfriend?" Nicholas asks raising his eyebrows, "oh, yeah i am. Sorry, I'm colson" he says shaking her dads hand.

Eleanor sits down aswell and signs for her husband to start speaking. "Lexi, i want to start off by saying that I'm sorry for how i treated you. I shouldn't have acted out on you" he starts. Lexi wants to speak but decided not to so he could finish talking.

"Jason passing wasn't your fault. I don't know why i blamed you, you didn't do anything. It's no one fault other than the drunk driver hitting him. I guess i was still dealing with his death that i took it out on you. Kicking you out was the biggest mistake i ever made, and not being a dad to you all these years"

Colson places his hand on Lexi's knee. She's processing everything he just said. "Can i just ask you one question?" Her dad nods, "why now? Why do you almost 5 months after kicking me out realize what you have done to me?"

Nicholas has to think about what he's going to responde. "I saw a video of you singing with your boyfriend last night. It made me realize how much i missed you" he replies.

One thing Lexi had learned about her dad, she can tell when he's lying.

"Don't fucking lie. You never missed me!" She shouts, her mom sending her a shocked look. "Tell me the real reason" Lexi says pain in her voice.

Colson is slightly confused on why she says her dad is lying, how could she tell? He shrugged it off and listened, his hand still on her knee comforting her.

Nicholas didn't turn his gaze to Lexi as he spoke. "Fine. I saw some articles about you and your boyfriend. You're getting recognized and famous. Your boyfriend is also a really famous artist, your brothers' favorite as you know. So i thought that I'd could make some money off of it"

"Nicholas!!?" Eleanor shouts, she didn't know this was his real reason. He told her the first thing he told Lexi as well. If she had known she would have told Lexi to stay away.

"Making money? So you ownly want me back for money?" Lexi says in a shocked and sad way. Her dad doesn't say anything, Lexi has her awnser. "We're leaving. I'm taking all of my stuff including Jason's and I'll never see you again" she says getting up.

Nicholas does the same, "you can't just take his stuff!" He shouts getting closer to Lexi. Colson steps between them, "this is her house too, am i correct?" He asks mainly to Eleanor, she nods. "Then she can take anything she wants" colson smiles still blocking off Lexi and taking her upstairs.

"This is your room?" Colson asks as he looks around. It's different than he expected it to be. football shirts are hanging around her room from different clubs and players. A lot of music things too like a guitar and record player. A lot of different aesthetics in one room. "I love it!" He squeals making Lexi giggle.

He can tell she's sad and still slight shock. He pulls her waist wrapping his arms around her, "that man doesn't know what kind of daughter he's losing over this" he whispers kissing her head. Lexi smiles looking up at him "he's always been all about money  it honestly didn't even surprise me, I'm mainly in shock it's actually the reason. Funny thing tho, i don't even make money" she laughs.

Colson frowns "about that, i know you really want to get a job but you don't have too. I've got you. You're living with me because i asked you too and it's on me you're know now"

Lexi nods, she knows she won't win this no matter what. He has more people having her back in this than she does anyways.

The two of them put Lexi's intire life into some bags, now they're moving onto Jason's room. It doesn't take long since Lexi had most of his stuff already that were most important to her.

Lexi hugged her mom goodbye by the door. "If i knew this i would have warned you. I'm sorry darling" she says. "It's not your fault mom i know you would've told me" Lexi smiles back, colson shakes Eleanor's hand as Lexi walks out to the car.

Nicholas showed up just as colson wants to follow Lexi. "You should really be ashamed of yourself. How dare you call yourself a father" colson tells him calmly and walks away. They had already cleared out Lexi's room and put it in the car, they both get in and drive off.
