Ryujin worked tirelessly throughout the morning because she urgently needed to finish her next publication, as she was on deadline. She also wanted to make time to talk to her friend about her conversation with Yeji. She could have taken the opportunity and gone downstairs with her for coffee, but it had been impossible for her. So, as soon as she finished the draft and sent it to the boss, she got up from her chair and headed for Chaeryeong's office without anyone or anything stopping her.
“I have to tell you something.” She said as soon as she opened the door. “Holy f-!”
She slammed it shut and smiled in disbelief at the scene she encountered. She never thought she'd see her friend in such a loving attitude at work. She stood by in the hallway and checked the time on her cell phone since that incident was cutting minutes off her time and as she thought about Yeji and the fact that they had made up, the door opened and she smiled again as she came face to face with Lia.
“Hello, Ryujin, how are you?”
“Very well, thank you.” She replied. “And you?”
“Well, I could be better, actually.” Lia assured her with a smile.
“Sorry for the interruption.” She said before returning her smile. “I didn't know you were busy.”
“It was an impromptu thing.” Lia clarified. “Next time I'll have Chae put up a 'do not disturb' sign.”
“My eyes will appreciate it.”
“Don't overreact.” Lia pointed out. “Lesbian sex is the best thing ever.”
“You're right about that.” She pointed out. “But I don't like the idea of seeing my friend in that situation.”
“I didn't even manage to get her shirt off.” Lia joked and they both smiled. She didn't know if Chaeryeong and Yeji's best friend's relationship would work out. But she really liked her sense of humor and her personality.
“Speaking of sex.” Lia said. “How is it going with Yeji?” Her question made her smile wider and she even felt a little shiver and some embarrassment at the thought of having such a scene with her friend again. “I take it you two haven't fucked again.”
“I guess Yeji told you that we've made up.” When Lia nodded, she continued. “We're not at that point yet.” She pointed out.
“Yet.” Lia stressed with a big smile.
She was speechless so she was grateful when Yeji's friend's cell phone rang. That call freed her from having to follow up on the conversation. She said goodbye to her and waited for a few seconds before opening Chaeryeong's office door again.
“Don't you have another place?” She asked after closing it and her friend ignored her while she was typing nonstop. “I think you're going to have to pay a psychologist for me. It doesn't have to be good for my health to see what I just witnessed.” She argued. “How do I get that out of my head?” She joked exaggerating after sitting across from her and Chaeryeong looked at her with a raised eyebrow and a rather serious gesture.
“And why did you interrupt us?” She asked, somewhat irritated. “Besides, if I remember correctly, I caught you kissing Yeji in your office.”
“Exactly, kissing. Just that.” She stressed. “How was I supposed to know that you two would be indulging your deepest desires?”
“Try knocking on the door next time.” Her friend blurted out that recommendation and went back to work, ignoring her.
“You mean just like you do when you walk into my office?” Ryujin questioned. Chaeryeong huffed and glared at her. “Why are you acting like an idiot?” Ryujin dared to ask her and watched her slump against the back of the chair and run her hand over her face.
