I shout with the crowd in great excitement as I watch Eliana sit with a confident smile. As the shouting stops, Sahir clears his throat and announces, "Thank you, everyone. It is now time for the crowning ceremony. The crowning of the beautiful and talented young lady, your princess. For years we thought we had no one to save us from the wrath and greed of our former Queen, but we were wrong. Our savior, our warrior and our future queen stepped her feet through the borders and suddenly, a sliver of hope emerged." A deep breath followed and he continued with a big smile on his face, "Today is a celebration of our Princess. The celebration of coming home." A huge round of applause thundered as Eliana stepped forward and I frowned when I saw a guard holding Sofia back. She looked shocked and hurt, definitely mad. I felt really bad for her.
While Eliana moved forward, unable to look back, she was held back. I asked the guard beside me, "Why are they not letting Sofia go?" He rolled his eyes and replied, "Because she's just a Princess while Miss Eliana is the Crown Queen. No one cares if Miss Sofia is older. She'll always walk after Miss Eliana."
My heart hurt for the discrimination Sofia was facing. Another round of applause followed as Eliana bent her head forward and Sahir placed the shiny golden crown like branches and leaves with small diamonds like in place of flower shapes. It was beautiful no doubt. She smiled broadly and glanced at Sahir for permission for something. "Good evening everyone. Uh, there's no point in introducing myself." A light laugh erupted and died down quickly. She chuckled, and put her hands behind her. I didn't focus on her speech because a crown was forming on the cushion where hers was before. A silver crown, slightly bigger than hers in the same pattern but then her words caught my attention. "My older sister, Sofia, is present here today and honestly I'm offended she was not made to come up next to me." Oh, did she just insult everyone in the court with the sweetest smile I've ever seen? She turned her head, took a few steps back and removed her sister from the man's grip, giving him a glare only the people on the sidelines of the stage could see. She took her hand in hers and took her forward. "My wonderfully talented sister aided us immensely with her talent for healing. Her common sense, her heavy sarcasm yet cleverness and boldness never fails to surprise me. So I present a crown to the woman who deserves the same recognition as me."
A round of applause, bigger than the one for Eliana erupted and Sofia's lips curved into a genuine smile as Eliana placed the crown on her head. People standing outside, the people who seemed bored from Sofia became soaking wet as the clouds thunder and rain started falling heavily.
Monsoon has started. Or maybe it's me who's doing it. Is it? You never know. The twins got down the stage, turned towards the Elements who were wore smiles of pride. All elementals and the girls curtsey each other, the men in them bowing. And then they walk to us and hug everyone. When I looked at Eliana up close, I almost fainted. She looked . . . perfect. We embraced each other and I whispered in Eliana's ear, "Well done, Princess." "Thanks. She deserves it." We pull away and Sahir yells, "Let the dance begin!" Immediately everyone starts dancing with their partners. Eliana was standing by the drinks station and drinking some cider. Then I stood next to her, sipping a glass of lemonade. She smiled and said in an elegant tone, "Yes?" I grinned at her and said, "Shouldn't a pretty girl like you be dancing?" She burst out laughing, "Well, I don't have a date so. . ." She finished, finishing the last in her glass and I bowed down, asked her, "May I have this dance, my lady?" She puts down the glass and puts her hand in mine. She whispers, "Yes." I hold her from her waist as she puts her hand on my shoulder, and I spin us in the middle of the floor.
I think I like her like that.
The Elements danced with each other while the only one left was Soul Reaper. He had been invited and sent on behalf of the queen of the Underland. You could recognize him from anywhere because no one was around him. I excuse myself from Eliana. She nods and spins away with Nick laughing. I walk towards the Reaper and through the crowd. He looked at me and nodded, as if acknowledging me and I started bowing in respect. "Uh, sir I want to ask you something." "What's that, Archer?" He asked me, downing her cup of champagne. "Why did you let her go and escape from death?" He looks at me and says, looking me dead in the eye, "Because, she is committed to her destiny, Archer. Fate has other plans for her. I didn't choose for her to leave, The Fates did." He motions her eyes to tell me to go to Eliana with a knowing smirk. I roll my eyes, I go to her and lace my fingers into hers. Maybe . . . maybe I think things could get better between us. We walked to the balcony that was near the ballroom after the rain ended. Just then fireworks started. The sky was filled with stars and colorful sparks. I guess. . . I was crushing on her. I almost laughed. What? That was my thought? As I was about to say this, she let go of my hand and she shouted, "I know where the emerald is!"
