Shadow pov
Morning. When you can call it morning. I didn't sleep at all. My mind kept going back to the azure hedgehog. I thought about the strange feeling. I didn't come up with anything. And I was still thinking about what to do with him.
I don't want to let him go, but I don't want to leave him in a cell either. Rrrrr! I grunted. I have a headache. And I'm annoyed.
I would continue thinking like this when someone suddenly knocked.
I growled that who dares to disturb me.
I wanted to scream for him to leave. When the door flew open and Rouge was standing in it. I let out a frustrated sigh and rested my head on my hand and looked to my side.
Sure, who else has the audacity to interrupt me like Rouge. The only member who respects me but treats me like an older sister.I grunted.
"Come on," she began. She rested one hand on her hip and let the other hang, "it's morning and the mood is already bad."
"You know not to come here like a hurricane," I said sullenly as I turned to her. She just stepped into my cabin, her left wing was bandaged.
"And how's your wing." I know I come across as emotionless sometimes, but I care about my crew. Even if I don't show it.
Rouge smiled. I already knew what I was going to say. And so I sighed.
"Oooooh. Someone is worried," she said with her smug smile. "And the answer to your question about my wing. He's getting better, but I still can't fly," she said normally now.
"Phew, whatever," he said. Though I'm relieved he's on the mend.
Rouge smiled because she saw what I was thinking.
"Well, now the reason why I broke in here. What are we going to do with the blue one?" she asked me.
"To tell the truth. I don't know," I replied. I still haven't figured it out.
"Okay. Please don't be hard on him, he saved us. And while you decide, we'll take care of him for now," she said.
"Okay, but don't underestimate him," I warned her.
"Ayay, Captain," she confirmed the order, straightening up and walking away.
When she left, I plunged into thinking again.
And something occurred to me.
Sonic pov
The first rays of sunlight peeked into the room through a small window. Which landed on my eyes. I grimaced a bit before opening my eyes.
When I looked in front of me, still dazed by sleep, I saw bars. I jumped up and looked around. At first I didn't know where I was. But then I remembered what happened yesterday.
Man, I'm surprised he fell asleep.
I sat back on the "bed".
Suddenly the door opened. I jumped to my feet. The fox with two tails from yesterday was standing in the doorway. I didn't really watch him during the fight yesterday.
As he walked towards me I could see that he had amber fur with white fur around his muzzle with cheek tufts, a front torso with fluffy fur on his chest and the tips of his tails. He also has large triangular ears with white canals on top of his head, sky blue eyes, a small black nose, and three strands of hair on his forehead. He wears brown fingerless gloves and leather boots, a striped light blue scarf with white bands on his right ear, a brown unbuttoned waistcoat with no buttons, and a brown belt with a mechanical arm attached to it.
A mechanical hand held a wooden tray next to him. I was curious about what was on the tray, even though I was a little scared. You never know what they have in store for you.
The fox came to the cell. He put a coaster through the gap under the door.
I was relieved that there was food and a glass of water on the tray.I sat down on the floor. I put the tray on my lap and started eating. It was a Sea dog. My favorite. I enjoyed it.
When I finished eating, I looked at the fox and smiled at him.
"Thank you," I said gratefully. The fox looked at me in surprise and then looked to the side in shame.
"You're welcome," he said in almost a whisper. "Although I should thank you again for saving me," he said as he looked back at me."Well, you're welcome, buddy," I said with my finger under my nose gesture.
The fox smiled. I already know that I want to think of him as a brother.
"Actually, we didn't introduce ourselves," the fox began. "My name is Miles Prower, but you can call me Tails," he said.
"Tails. I understand it's because you have an extra tail," I said when I understood the meaning of the nickname. "It's a cute nickname," he said so he wouldn't think I was mocking him, because the two different ones from yesterday seemed to know him. And I seriously think that nickname is cute.
"Thank you," he said sheepishly.
"By the way I'm Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog," I introduced myself when I realized he didn't know my name yet. I smiled and pointed a thumb at myself.
"Nice to meet you Sonic," he said with a smile as he closed his eyes. Patch Tails is the cutest person I've ever met. If I wasn't in a cell, I would hug him.
"Wait!" Tails suddenly shouted. "You think like that Sonic. A Sonic the Hedgehog pirate who defends others?!" he asked me.
I laughed.
"Yeah, I'm Sonic the Hedgehog," I said, giggling."Wow. I heard about you," he said happily. "But I must have seen you at the docks before, but I had no idea it was you. Like I've always wanted to meet you." He suddenly hugged his tails. "And the house was hoping you'd like me even though I have two tails," he said sadly.
I saw tears in my eyes and immediately hated the sight. I really need to be in a cell. Now I want to hug him and protect him from the world so I don't see those tears anymore.
"Hey buddy look at me" I said to get his attention. And it worked. He looked at me. Curious what to say.
"I only met you yesterday. And even then I wanted to get to know you. And since you came here, I already consider you a brother," I said with a smile.
Tails was looking at me with wide eyes the whole time. "Are you serious?" he asked me in disbelief.
"Seriously," I confirmed, "Tails, I seriously consider you a brother."
Tails started to cry.
"Tails please don't cry" I said worried.
"Sonic these are tears of happiness because you made me happy. And I consider you a brother too," he said with a smile.
This statement made me smile too. I went over to the bars.
"Tails, come here," I said.
Tails came to me by the bars. And I stuck my hands through the bars and hugged him as best I could. Tails hugged me back.
We stayed like this for a while before we split up. And he took the tray and left. He promised me he was back. After he left, I sat on the bed. I leaned my head against the wall, looking at the ceiling. I closed my eyes and smiled. Because I don't feel so alone anymore.
Author's note
Originally, this chapter was supposed to be a little different, but I decided to put part of it in the next chapter. And I hope you like it so far.❤️
To be honest, I doubt this book is any good.
