After leaving the ICU where Jimin lay, Jungkook's legs gave way, and he staggered against the door, his body trembling with despair. Mr. Jeon and Gong Yoo rushed to his side, their faces etched with deep concern. Jungkook's eyes, raw with anguish, pleaded with them silently, a silent scream for help that words could not convey.
"Appa, my heart feels like it's shattering," Jungkook's voice broke into a ragged whisper, tears streaming unchecked down his cheeks. "I... I can't bear to see Minie like this. The pain is too much. I feel like if anything happens to him, I'd rather just give up. I don't want anything but him, Appa."
Mr. Jeon placed a comforting hand on Jungkook's shoulder, his own voice thick with emotion but resolute. "Shh... calm down, Kook. Nothing will go wrong. I'm here, and I promise you, we'll get through this. Remember, Jimin gave you two precious lives to look after. You need to pull yourself together. Your babies need their App. Don't lose hope for Jimin now. I believe with all my heart that he'll wake up."
Jungkook looked at his father, his voice trembling. "Will he, Appa? Is there really hope?"
"Yes, he will. Trust me," Mr. Jeon said firmly, though his eyes shimmered with unshed tears. "Before he wakes up, you need to see the new lives he's brought into this world. They are the very essence of both you and him. Go now, see what Jimin has gifted us. It's a part of him that lives on, and he'll want to see you with your babies."
With those words, Jungkook felt a spark of hope. He realized he had completely forgotten about his babies in his anguish. He stood up, gathering his strength, and hurriedly went to the room where the newborns were kept. His heart pounded with a mix of fear and anticipation as he approached the door.
Upon entering, he saw two nurses gently placing the two sleeping babies in their cots. The sight was almost surreal. These tiny beings were his blood, his and Jimin's souls made manifest. He approached them with a hammering heart, each step feeling like a lifetime.
The nurses smiled warmly as they left the room, saying, "Congratulations, Mr. Jeon. You have two angels now."
Jungkook's heart melted as he gazed at his babies, sleeping soundly in their cribs. The room was bathed in a soft, golden light, and the serene silence was occasionally interrupted by the gentle, rhythmic breathing of the newborns. They looked so peaceful, their tiny chests rising and falling in perfect sync. In their delicate features, Jungkook saw reflections of Jimin, a blend of both their spirits captured in these two precious lives.
Tears streamed down his face, shifting from sorrow to overwhelming gratitude and awe. He reached out with a trembling hand and gently touched their tiny fingers, feeling the warmth of their new existence. This simple act filled him with an indescribable sense of love and protectiveness. Despite the profound pain and fear that weighed heavily on him, this moment was a beacon of hope. The sight of these perfect, tiny beings gave him a renewed sense of purpose.
Jungkook thought about Jimin's unwavering strength and the sacrifices he had made for their children. His mind wandered to the countless times Jimin had endured pain with a smile, always putting their babies first. Jimin had fought so hard to bring them into this world, and now Jungkook felt the weight of honoring that sacrifice.
He leaned closer to the cribs, his voice barely above a whisper as he spoke to his newborns. "You two are miracles, little ones. Your papa fought so bravely to bring you into this world. He's the best papa in the whole wide world. He's like an angel, just like you both. You know what, he loves you more than anything. He's waiting to hold you in his arms and see your beautiful faces."
His voice cracked with emotion, and he took a shuddering breath. "Please, wait a little longer for your papa to wake up. He needs to see you, to hold you, and to welcome you properly into this world. He's been our rock, our guardian angel, and he will be again. I know he's strong, and he's fighting to come back to us."
