"Alright, you two," I said, pulling back from Trent's embrace but still holding his hand. "Let's go inside so you both can freshen up. We'll catch up after that."
"As you say, princess!" Trent gave a slight bow.
Chase took both of them to their respective rooms.
"Can I talk to you, Alpha Brandon and Alpha Alexander?" I asked formally, making Alex wince.
"Sure," Alex was quick to answer.
"Ethan and Jackson, will you join us too? Chase will be with us as well," I stated.
We walked to the study together, deciding to talk where no one could disturb us.
"How are you?" Alex asked, stepping beside me.
"I'm good, Alpha. Thank you for asking. Please don't bother about me," I replied sternly.
"Catherine, I understand you are angry and hurt. But please know that is my child you are carrying, and you can't deny me from being in my child's life," he argued.
"I know and understand that. I never said you can't be involved in your child's life. I simply said don't interfere with mine. As long as this child is inside me, your concern is out of the question. But yes, when the baby is born, you can inquire about the well-being of your kid, and I wouldn't deny you that. I'm not a heartless monster, Alpha. Even though you make me out to be," I taunted.
"Catherine, please," he called.
I simply ignored him and entered the study, and they all followed.
We reached the study, a spacious room lined with bookshelves and furnished with dark, polished wood. The atmosphere was tense as we settled into the room, everyone finding their places around the large conference table. Chase entered last, closing the door behind him with a decisive click, ensuring our privacy.
I took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts. "Thank you all for coming," I began, my voice steady. "There's something important we need to discuss."
Everyone's eyes were on me, the weight of their attention almost tangible. Alexander's gaze was particularly intense, but I focused on the task at hand.
"First, I need to make it clear that nothing we experienced in the past few days should be shared with Trent or Caiden. I want to be the one to tell them everything that's happened, in my own time and in my way."
Chase nodded, understanding immediately. "Got it, Cathy. We won't say a word."
"They both are not aware of the fact that Alpha Alexander and I mated, let alone all the complications that came with it," I said dejectedly.
Brandon and Jackson exchanged a concerned glance before nodding in agreement. "We understand," Brandon said. "It's your story to tell, and we'll respect that."
"Thank you. Both of you. Truly, despite our past, you both have excelled in helping us out in your ways, and we appreciate it," I thanked them.
"Cathy, you don't have to thank us. We're just doing our part," Jackson replied.
"But Catherine, I don't understand why you want to wait," Alexander interjected.
"Because, Alpha, they both are my friends, and I was waiting to see them face to face before I told them about us. Now that I am at this point, they are going to be furious. I don't want to start a war between friends because you wanted to rush on informing them. I am thinking about the relationships and the pacts we have as packs. I do not want to spoil it. Trust me, if they hear it from anyone else, all hell will break loose," I warned.
