POLYGRAM SHIP CHAPTER

Toad was sitting outside of the ThunderClan camp.
He felt bad that he wasn't able to help Brambleclaw find Ashfur.
They seemed so happy together. I can't imagine what it would be like to lose Darktail or Rain.
“We did our best, that's what matters.” Darktail sat down beside him.
Rain followed Darktail. “Darktail, why don't you tell Toad about our idea?”
Darktail purred. “I thought we could go on a little midnight stroll together, what do you say lovely?”
Toad shot up. “That sounds great! You two are the best!”
Rain nuzzled Toad. “No you~”
Darktail stepped between them. “You're both wrong! We’re all the best!”
“Yeah!” Toad's mood was instantly so much better.

Darktail stood between Toad and Rain as the three walked.
He purred as his mate’s fur brushed his own. The three were chatting about a bunch of random things.
“I wonder why ThunderClan cats don't fish?” Rain tipped his head.
Darktail responded. “Maybe they think the fish will eat them.”
Toad laughed. “Everyone knows fish are the scariest creatures.”
“Oh no the scariest creature is Darktail when he's angry!” Rain corrected Toad. “He practically tore Dodge’s entire pelt off!”
Darktail shrugged. “Don't mess with my mates. It's not that complicated.”
Toad nodded. “Mhm, Stick learned that too.”
Rain chuckled. “Oh you were ready to fight him when he insulted me.”
Darktail remembered that day fondly. After Toad had explained why Darktail and Rain were there Stick had calmed down. But it was still funny to think that Toad was ready to fight his father over a petty insult.
Darktail spoke next. “Toad I think your parents are probably the worst.” he tried to say it respectfully, but gave up.
Toad flicked his stub tail. “They bicker over nothing, like seriously how am I more mature than my dads?”
Rain moved so he could whisk his tail over Toad’s shoulder. “Well Toad it's because you're just better than them.” he told him nonchalantly.

Rain laid his tail across both his mates shoulders.
I guess there actually is a perk to having a long tail. Rain thought, pleased with himself for once.
Darktail and Toad were purring so loudly it caused Rain to purr.
“Ok I guess living in a clan isn't that bad.” Rain admitted.
Toad and Darktail exchanged a look.
“Alright Darktail give me my catnip!” Toad teased.
Darktail rolled his eyes. “We had a bet on how long it would take for you to admit the clans weren't terrible, and I lost.” he explained.
Rain laughed. “It's about time you stopped being so right!" He teased.
Darktail faked offense. “How dare thy! You can't talk well you're so perfect!”
Rain purred even louder. “Why are you so nice?” he asked.
“It’s just the truth.” Darktail shrugged.
