Elvis meets and falls in love with a very beautiful stage actress from England who is there in LA on vacation while he's working on his film G.I. Blues. They connect with each other on a deep level since they both know the life in the acting business and the stresses that come from it, but the fact that they live an ocean and a country apart may mean that a romance between them isn't possible. Also, Elvis is insanely famous. That may be a problem.

Who is that woman with huge blue eyes?

I stared the very beautiful woman with light-brown hair and slimming figure in a purple dress. My fans were trying to get my attention and ask about my service in Germany, but my gaze couldn't leave that woman... who glanced over at me and met my gaze. My heart jumped. Those eyes became bigger, and her red lips formed my name—Elvis. I smirked at her and got back to my fans in this busy restaurant.

Maybe five minutes passed, and I glanced over again, but that woman wasn't there. Well, fat chance of ever seeing her again. I finished up with my fans and some reporters, and I was successfully able to get out of the restaurant and onto the sidewalk. Of course, people were there, and I got hounded again. I scanned every face, but I couldn't see that beauty from a few minutes ago.

Even while the chaotic and noisy crowd was still there, I was usured into the black Sedan that I was renting out here in LA while I was working on my new picture. I let out a hefty breath as my manager got into the front passenger's seat and my father got into the driver's seat.

"People are gonna be houdin' ya for a month more about your service, son," said Daddy as we started heading to the hotel. We had just had dinner, and there was nothing else going on today, so we just decided to turn in for the night. It was only about seven o'clock.

"Yeah, I know," I said. "I don't mind it much. I'm proud to talk about it. It was the hardest, yet most fulfillin' two years of my life, and I learned so much and grew so much. I also learned to have a greater love for my country."

"Which is one of the reasons why you went—so you could focus on being a true American," said the Colonel.

"Right," I said half-heartedly. Really, I was thrown into the army since I didn't want to go to prison for disobeying the government when they told me to tone it down with the dancing, but... I didn't listen. I was almost arrested after that charity concert at Russwood Park.

"Now let's focus on this next picture, my boy," said the Colonel. "It'll be like you're back in the army."

"Not really," I argued. "It's a romance that takes place in Germany while the main guy is in the army. It's not an army film."

"Nonetheless, you'll be wearing a uniform, and you can wear the colors you were rewarded in the service."

I smirked proudly as Daddy said, "That's right, son. Show off to the world that you became a sergeant. I'm so proud of ya, and your mother would be, too."

My chest pinched at the mention of my wonderful mother who passed two years ago this August. "Yeah, I know. Let's not talk about it, anymore."

They both knew it was a sour subject, talking about Momma. If I thought about her being gone for a minute longer, I would burst into tears. I took a deep breath and let it out as we arrived at the hotel, and people were there to greet me, of course. I didn't make it up to the floor my suit was on until it was almost eight. Maybe I didn't want to be hounded after all. I was so tired. We would take the back entrance tomorrow.

"Man oh man," I exasperated in a large breath. "Boy, do I need a good night's sleep."

I came to my door, and as I was getting the key out of my slacks pocket, I noticed movement to my left. I looked over and saw... My heart jumped up to the sky. It was that woman from the restaurant! She still had on that purple dress, and in this lighting, I could see that her hair, which was up in a twist, was more blonde than what I saw at the restaurant. She was opening or closing a door she was in front of. Wait... was she staying here, too, and only a couple doors down from me?!
