"SLYTHERIN!" The hat called out after a few minutes of silence.
The entire Great Hall was silent for a moment, then Sirius, Remus, Draco, Blaise, Pansy, and Theodore started clapping for him. Everyone else then got over their shock and began politely clapping for the mysterious Potter none of them had ever heard about. Hadrian then strode over to the Slytherin table and sat next to Pansy. Most Slytherins seemed skeptical on the fact a Potter, a strictly light wizarding family, was sorted into Slytherin, a most of the time dark house. Many of the older years seemed very upset.
"Potter." An older year spat out, "What do you think you're doing, getting sorted into Slytherin?" He sneered.
"Hmm? What do you mean? This is the house that Alister said I'd do best in." Hadrian said to the boy.
"Do you think I care what the- who the bloody hell is Alister!" The older shouted at Hadrian.
"You don't know?" Hadrian smirked, "It's the sorting hats name. He said I was very mysterious and cunning indeed. Cunning. One of the main characteristics of this house isn't it?"
"Pft- as if a Potter could be cunning. They're all about bravery and no self preservation. That's what a Potter is. And you're a Potter." He spat out.
"And what makes you so sure those are my characteristics? As far as I'm concerned none of you knew of my existence up until a few moments ago."
"And? All Potters are the same. Your parents are both Gryfindors, your twin is Gryfindor."
"But, I wasn't raised with them, and as far as I'm concerned I have no family relation with them. After my dear older brother was deemed the 'Boy-who-Lived' they immediately threw me to my 'mothers' sister, who is a muggle and hates everything magic. So she obviously wouldn't keep me. So then I was thrown into a crappy muggle orphanage, where everyone either was terrified of me, or wanted to bully me. So yea, Lily and James Potter are not my family. We just happen to share a last name and blood." Hadrian spat out the information of his past coldly to the boy, obviously angered at the comparison to his so called 'parents'.
"Oh yea? But you still have Potter Blood." The boy rolled his eyes. "And are a Half-blood."
"First off, so what what if I'm a half-blood? And second off, I don't just have Potter blood, I also have Black blood. When Sirius Black became my godfather he also blood adopted, therefore making me the black heir. And, you know how the Black family is with their core affinities.." Hadrian trailed off at the end.
The boy just sat there not knowing how to reply to the new found information. But Draco sure had something to say.
"Wait- your heir black!?" Draco said letting his Slytherin mask down.
"Er- yes?"
"Wow. We're like 3rd cousins or something." Draco stated after recovering his mask.
"We are? How?"
"My mother was Sirius' cousin, Narcissa Black, then she married my father."
"Oh, that's neat, we're related!"
"Guys! Shshshsh be quiet it's Blaise's turn to be sorted!" Draco and Hadrian stoped talking to pay attention to Blaise's sort, and Hadrian realized that Theodore was sorted into Slytherin during his and the older students little talk.
"SLYTHERIN!" Alister called out to the great hall.
Then Dumbledore got up and began talking, "Welcome to a new year at Hogwarts! Before we begin our banquet, I would like to say a few words. And here they are: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak! Thank you!" He then went back to his seat and sat down. As he sat down he looked directly at Hadrian, and his twinkling grandfather eyes lost their twinkle. The normal person wouldn't notice this slight difference but Hadrian did, and his eyes darkened in return at the glance.
