Chapter 20: Overwhelming

Kaveri: Ennanga? Naa ivloa soldren neenga paesaama irukkinga. Ungalukku yen en mela avloa anbu?

Vijay ran his hair with his hand, before looking at Kaveri with a blank face, her innocent face was doing something to his entire body.

Vijay: Ye........Yen?....Ennaku irukka kudhadhaa?

Vijay made a sulking face and looked away, Kaveri felt butterflies in her stomach as she didn't expect him to accept it wholeheartedly. He glanced at her and looked down hesitantly.

Vijay: Uhmmm.....nee mattum ennakaaga antha Aadhiye police kitta pudichi kuduthe, athu mattum illaama en uyirae kaapaathi nee inga hospital le iruppe, aanaa naa mattum unnaku ippadi nadandathu paathaa, ennaala summa irukka mudiyumaa? Unna naa nalla paathupenu promise pannirukenle.......

Kaveri's face brightened at Vijay's words. She felt like a special person to him, which he did consider her like that. She started to feel a fatherly behavior from him, after her own father protected her from the danger. She felt safe with him.

Kaveri's eyes welled up with tears and ran down on her cheeks. Vijay wasn't looking at her because he felt a bit shy to admit his own feelings for her.

Kaveri: Thanks Vijay.

Vijay: Hey, nee ethukku thanks sold...

Vijay turned his face up and found Kaveri's teary eyes, he panicked for a second and got closer to her.

Vijay: Hey Kaveri, yen azhuvure? Engayaachum valikkuthaa?

Kaveri tried to sit up from her bed but the pain on her wounds stopped her. Vijay helped her by holding her shoulders and made her sit on the bed slowly. He wiped her tears and moved closer to her.

Vijay: Ennachu Kaveri?

Kaveri: ( sniffs ) Illanga, ithukku munnaadi enga appa enkudha irukkum bothu, enna nalla paathupaaru, enkitha pesuvaaru, ennaku ellaam sandhoshamum kudupaaru. Vijay let out a huge sigh as he knew he touched Kaveri's sensitive part without his own knowledge.

Vijay: Sorry Kaveri, naa venumne unnaiyae kastham padathunumnu ippadi pesala. Unnakku ippadi nadandathu paathu naa romba bayandhuthen.

Kaveri widened her eyes a bit and stared at Vijay curiously.

Vijay: Uhh.... aama, anga nee rathamaa namma college munnaadi vizhundadhe paathapo en uyire pochi. Unnakku ethaavathu aayirundhaa naa enna pannirupen sollu.

Kaveri: Romba kastham padathithenaa naa? Sorry nga.......

Vijay: Pandrathu ellaam pannithu sorry vera, podi.

Vijay pouted and looked down, glancing at Kaveri with a sulking face. She found it cute as she knew he was genuinely scared of losing her own life. He was acting like a baby in front of her out of nowhere.
