"So you all are telling me that some commotion happened at the back of the building and you all went there?" I sit on a near by stone with both of my hands on my head.
The chief officer nodded.
"I clearly told you all not leave her at any cost" I was feeling defeated
"Sir that's what we thought. We thought something happened to Miss Leah, but when we came back the building was on fire"
I dare not believe what they say. All I can hear is bullshit.
"Swear if I was your boss I would have fired you all , you cannot even handle your one job" I stand up
"Take me to the place"
I enter the room. Everything was ash black. Luckily the fire brigade came in time so not much destruction is done.
I search for Leah in every room , and I hoped that she wasn't here when I clearly know the problem will arise if she's not here. But it'll be better if she's somewhere else and not in this fire.
The furniture was almost fully burned.
I can never get anything out of this ashtray like room.
I came out of the bedroom. Totally devastated , she's not here. And my brain is not working. I should clearly be panicking right now. Even if she was in the fire her burned body should be here but I am not worrying a little.
Leah's gun was missing. The kitchen was a mess infact everything was a mess.
The walls were all pitch black.
I clench my hands before turning towards the cops.
"Find anything, anything means anything , I NEED EACH ONE OF YOU TO FIND HER OR YOU'RE LOSING YOUR PRECIOUS JOBS TODAY"
They all nod before scattering in the area. Finding anything they could.
I sit on the ground totally tired.
I take out my phone , again tried calling her , and again her phone was off.
Where are you?
"Sir!"I hear one of the cops calling for me.
I immediately stand up and walk towards him.
He showed me a knife , a knife in a very bad condition.
"Sir , if you see clearly you can see the dried blood and if you notice clearly you can see the splattered blood on the wall too"
Is he a fool? The wall is covered black. How ca he see the blood?
I take a step closer to the wall and trace my hand over it. The stains are visible.
No, I take my words back. He's a genius , the wall indeed has blood marks if looked closer and as for the knife he's correct.
"She fought bravely" I smile looking at the knife
"Everyone attention, call the headquarters and tell each one of them to get connected to me. We need to find her"

LEAH'S POV
I open my eyes , everything was blurry , my body had immense pain. I could barely lift my neck.
I was tied to the chair , both hands and legs, typical kidnapping.
My throat felt dry. I try adjusting to the light.
There he was , the same jerk , he looked at me , more like scoffing at me.
He gestured his man something before I get welcomed by splash of water from a bucket.
I hissed in pain , they must have beaten me while I was unconscious. I can feel my body paining.
"Is my darling hurt?" The jerk walked towards me , lowering his body before grabbing my jaw making me look at him.
"You're pathetic" I speak out
"Huh? I cannot hear you. Can you say it louder?" He tightened his hold on my jaw
"YOU'RE PATHETIC" I shout with every once of power left in my body.
He stepped back before kicking the chair I was sitting on , making me fall with the chair.
I groaned in pain. I could hear his men laughing at my situation.
His men remove me from the tied chair before tying my hands again and leaving me on the floor.
The drug which I got injected with, still has the effect on me.
"Leah Hudgins, be afraid, we're here to kill you , but with a second thought you're not that bad" he rubbed hus hands
"You're a vixen , you killed my men alone! That's impressive--"
"Who the fuck are you?" I cut him off
That was my right to ask. He caused me in this situation.
"Oh? You didn't realise till now? I am paradox! Your goal"
I look at him , the proud face which never did anything proud.
"Don't worry I am not going to kill you , Paradox does things which benefit him , and you are no benefit to him. But if you try to oversmart then you surely will be killed"
He took a step towards me. He smelt like cigarettes.
"I contacted your department, seems like they care about you a lot. They immediately insisted on keeping quiet"
No , this is not true. It's a rule in my agency , if we get into a do or die situation it's always die because the agency will never disclose anything for a mere human.
"Give her food, water and anything she needs , just not a escape" he smirked towards me
Only if I could pull off the smirk off his face.
Everyone starts leaving one by one. My hands were open now along with my legs too.
Although they locked the door , it has iron bars so there's no way I'll be able to break it.
Plus I need some energy first. I'll find a way , I trust myself.
KEITH'S POV
"I trust her! She's a steel woman. Trust me boss , just this once" I plead to the man sitting in front of me
Aa soon as he heard Leah is Missing , be straight came here.
"No Keith! How can you contact THE PARADOX and agree to his terms when I AM THE BOSS. You know the rules. If an agent is in a mess , we will never put our agency after their life"
"Boss , for saving lives you kill lives" I spit out
He was indeed shocked.
"You don't understand Keith, for saving her you are putting everyone in danger" he stood up and walked towards me
"You're talking as if he doesn't knows that our agency is trying to catch him. He clearly knows it"
"Keith, we're safe until we don't try to meddle--"
"This mission was definitely made to meddle with Paradox. And please if you're here to talk nonsense then you can leave. I resign" I pull out my badge and put on the nearby table
"You're giving up your job for her?" He was clearly irritated
"I know the worth of life , you don't" I scoff before walking out.
I care about nothing when it comes to her. She's my drug , a drug that makes me live.
