Avalon's POV

"That's the fifth assignment I have had to do this week. That's ridiculous if you think about it." I sighed, shoving another piece of work paper into my bag effortlessly.

"That's University for you." Ella sighed with me, rolling her neck around until she heard it crack. Ella always cracked any part of her body. Knuckles, back, arms, toes. It was a bit silly. I didn't like it, hence why I always told her not to but it's a habit for her now so it's impossible for her not to.

"Are we going out with the boys tonight?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows and turning to face her as I took a sip of my water.

"I'm not sure. Ask Zayn. I just really think you two should date. I swear you're made for each other." Ella waved her hands in the air for gesturing and I giggled at her actions. Maybe I really liked Zayn, yes. But he doesn't like me back. Ella always goes on about it.

"Come one, El, you and Niall are more made for each other than Zayn and I. You know, blonde hair and blue eyes. You both got it." I laughed as we continued walking out of the University area grounds and down the endless street.

Ella and I have been best friends for as long as we can remember. We thought we looked the same, thought the same, did everything the same. We were the same. But as we grow, we started to look different and thought differently. Ella and I both had piercing blue eyes, rich like the ocean but hers were such a bright beautiful blue. Her hair was long, reaching her chest, and a light blonde. Whereas mine was long but a dirty blonde, wavy with every strand on my head. Ella's face was shaped beautifully and her smile was outrageously stunning. I had bigger and a chubbier face whereas hers was thin and beautiful.

"Oh shush, Avy." Ella laughed. Ella has liked Niall ever since we met the boys. It was at one of their shows on X Factor and we had double passes and it was VIP, so we got to attend the 'Meet And Greet Lounge' and we met them then. Louis and I instantly grew a connection but we saw each other nothing other than best friends. Then I grew such strong connections with them all. Especially Zayn. After spending our third year with them, I grew an amazing friendship with each of them and couldn't help but fall hopelessly in love with Zayn. Even if he didn't see me the same way.

"Avalon," Ella snapped her fingers in front of my eyes, "get out of your little dazes you do."

"Sorry," I shook my head and laughed a little.

"So are we going to the boys' or what?" She raised her petite thin lined eyebrows and smiled,  curving the corners of her pink lips.

"Yeah, just so you can see Niall." I giggled, poking my tongue out in the process.

Ella scoffed and giggled, rolling her eyes.

The rest of the walk grew tiring and Ella didn't want anything other than call one of the boys to pick us up. So that's what she did.

We sat on a seat that belonged to a bus stop and waited patiently until Niall would come with his giant Range Rover to pick us up. Finally after about ten minutes of waiting, he pulled up beside the side walk and we hopped in.

"With a car as big as this, Niall, you can be mistaken for a pedophile." I laughed.

"That was the aim of getting a car the size of this, wasn't it?" Niall joked, glancing at me sitting in the back through the rear view mirror.

"Very funny," Ella scoffed jokingly.

"Guess what I got off today!" Niall suddenly grinned, showing his award winning smile and his pure white teeth shining.

"Your braces!" I cheered, my fists in the air.

"Yay!" Ella grinned, staring at his line of straight white, braceless teeth.
