Ben: So loud...
Jiro: Be quiet! It's already late, the neighbors are going to complain!
Kyotoku: I can't remain quiet after hearing a story that sets my soul to rock!
After Ben finished telling Kyotoku about the Class A vs Class B events and what happened to the Omnitrix, the father and daughter continue to bicker with each other, Ben looks at them with a small smile as Mika Jiro enters the living room holding a tray with warm drinks for everyone. Ben notices this as he quickly stands up and gives her a hand.
Mika: They're the same as always. *to Ben* I'm so glad that they were able to let students come back home even if it's only for one day.
Ben: Thanks for having me over, but you guys didn't have to take me in too. I could have just stayed at the dorms.
Mika: Don't say something so ridiculous. You're family, and this is your home too.
As Ben took two drinks off the tray, he was happy to hear Mika's words as they smiled at each other. Kyotoku and Jiro finally finished their bickering and sat down on the couches. Mika gave her husband his drink and sat down next to him as Ben did the same with Jiro.
Kyotoku: *to Ben* So, why couldn't you go back home?
Ben: Grandpa Max said he had some urgent plumber business that he had to work on, which means...
Jiro: Something disgusting.
Mika: It's a shame he couldn't get time off for the holidays.
Ben: But to be honest, I'm glad I could come here and spend time with you guys.
Both Jiro's parents smile upon hearing Ben's words but soon see him looking down with a horrified expression.
Ben: *terrified* If I was back home with Grandpa, he would have prepared a full-course feast for me...
The Jiro family, who were all too familiar with Max's cooking, imagined the horrifying full-course meal and couldn't help but laugh at Ben's reaction. As their laughter simmered down, Kyotoku soon changed the subject to something that had been on his and his wife's mind for a while.
Kyotoku: Ben, I'm sorry for being a broken record about this, but are you doing all right?
Ben: Yeah, I've been surviving Grandpa's food for years now...
