The next few days very interesting to say the least…

Let’s begin with registration day. Kaiba Corp had collaborated with several games stores to act as registration stations for the tournament, giving free duel disks to the contestants that qualified to enter. Only a certain number of participants were allowed to compete, 48 to be exact. The finals would consist of 8 finalists, each needed to collect 6 locator cards each to enter the finals… (The locator cards came with the duel disks.)

Only high ranking duellists were permitted to enter to ensure that only the best of the best make it to the top. But unfortunately there was a problem that Seto wasn’t aware of…one of the rare hunters ran one of the registration stores. This meant that any number of rare hunters could be entered into the tournament undetected.

Lillian, Yugi and his friends just so happened to go to this particular store, of course Yugi was a high enough ranked duellist to enter but Joey wasn’t so lucky. Lillian stood back and watched as the blond had a fit about being on such a low level, the girl wondering it Seto personally saw to Wheeler’s ranking. She found it funny how petty these two could be towards each other. Their hatred could fuel a third world country.

What she wasn’t expecting was the store clerk to check his computer again and stated that the program was wrong and that Joey was ranked high enough to enter…something didn’t seem right about that. Sure he had come second place in Duellist kingdom but he was still beginner with one tournament under his belt. It was understandable for Yugi since he beat Seto and defeated Pegasus.

She eyed the guy as he handed Yugi and Joey their duel disks, noting how he turned his gaze to her for a moment, eyeing her suspiciously, a bad feeling running up her spine.

Lillian wouldn’t register since she’s never competed in any competitions so there would be no chance she would be allowed to take part in the tournament. Luckily she had a duel disk already, she would just have to find an opponent and bluff her way into getting them to believe she had a locator card. She would be looking for rare hunters knowing that they would find a way to infiltrate the event. She wasn’t planning on winning, not a chance. But if she could find a way to get rid of the hunters and their boss by the time the finals rolled around then all should be good. She just hoped her plan will work out unlike what happened in duellist kingdom.

They headed home after that and what came next was a shock to everyone.

First Serenity and her mother arrive in Domino that afternoon and the young girl was booked into the hospital by night fall. Joey was on his way to go see her and was going to stay with her till until her operation was over. Unfortunately he ran into trouble, a group of rare hunters surrounded the kid and challenged him to a duel which he unfortunately lost to the guys Exodia deck.

And to rub salt in the wound, he got beat up before the hunter took his Red Eyes Black Dragon card. The blond was left passed out in the alleyway, by the time he came to the sun was starting to rise. His heart sank as he had broken his promise to his sister…how could he ever face her?
