Jayde's POV

"I'm glad to see that you came." UCLA's coach said as I stood on the sideline with her.

"I was surprised to see the email that I received." I said.

She reached out to me and notified me that the Lakers liked the application I sent in and want to discuss things further in person. The UCLA coach told me to come by here first so we could talk.

"Well, I did tell you I was going to put a good word in for you. I wasn't lying." She said as we turned our attention back towards Isaiah.

Overtime is doing a highlight on him for March Madness this month.

"He's really excited about this shoot

"He's really excited about this shoot." She said as I gave a half smile.

"I'm sure he is. He's worked hard. He deserves it." I said as he walked over to us.

I wish I could get one for Chris... I might have to do some networking before I leave.

"Damnnn, you came to watch me again? You just can't stay away can you?" He asked as I mugged him.

Here he goes.

"I know this might be hard to believe, but everything does not revolve around you." I said as he smirked.

"Sometimes it does." He replied as I shook my head.

"By the way, it sucks and it's too bad I didn't get a chance to get my rematch against USC. Maybe next season?" He asked sarcastically as I squinted my eyes at him.

"You two are trouble makers." The coach said as I shook my head.

"No, he's just a scumbag." I said.

"You love me though." He said walking and bouncing the ball back towards the camera crew.

"I actually don't." I said loud enough for him to hear.

Please. That boy wishes somebody loved him.

"You two have history?" She asked.

"Let's talk about something more important like the internship." I said giving a fake smile to change the topic.

That is not her business.

"Alright, well it's during the whole summer. The good part is that you'll have a flexible schedule. They pay for transportation if you need it, and they pay for your meals during the internship. They mostly cater food throughout the week. You'll get to attend press runs and events as well. It's the golden opportunity to boost the future you strive for." She explained as I shook my head understanding.

Time to put myself in higher places. This is chess, not checkers.
