After a refreshing week away from the academy, I spent the past few days helping Nytsul and Elara with the final touches for the festival. I woke up later than usual, having stayed up late the night before to ensure everything was brought over for the festival.

Sleepy, I quickly got ready and headed to class. As I walked through the halls, I wondered what the plan would be for the week ahead.

I entered the classroom and spotted Scarlet sitting at her desk reading a book. I walked over with a friendly smile and greeted her, "Hi, Scarlet! How was the rest of your week with your family?"

"It was really great," Scarlet replied with a smile. "I had a wonderful time catching up with my siblings and enjoying some quality time with my parents."

"That's great to hear!" I said, smiling. "It sounds like you had a really good time."

After talking with Scarlet, I made my way to my seat. But before I could sit down, Mr. Wylkes addressed the class, his voice cutting through the murmurs of conversation. "Excuse me, everyone," he began, drawing our attention. "Before you get settled in, I need to let you know that we'll be heading to the auditorium. The headmaster has an important announcement to make."

We all left the classroom and made our way to the auditorium. As we entered, I noticed that the space felt unusually smaller than usual. Headmaster Enzo stood at the podium, his gaze sweeping over the gathering crowd, waiting for the first-year students to finish arriving.

"Good evening, first years," Headmaster Enzo began, his voice resonating through the auditorium. "It is my pleasure to greet you all this morning. I want to take this opportunity to introduce you to the headmaster and students of Avery Academy."

As he spoke, a sudden shift occurred in the space around us. The wall to our right began to dissolve, revealing a previously hidden area. The first-year students from Avery Academy, along with their professors and headmaster, appeared in the newly exposed space.

Before we had a chance to react, our headmaster and the headmaster of Avery Academy began to speak simultaneously. "We thank you all for the opportunity to host events like this," the headmasters said in unison. "We hope that you will all take this chance to get to know each other, forge new friendships, and build strong bonds. This festival is designed to bring our two schools closer together, allowing you to share and express yourselves with students from the other academy.

That said, there will be numerous competitions throughout the week of the festival. These challenges are intended to spark friendly rivalry, encourage growth, and help each of you reach your full potential.

Your professors will be distributing a pamphlet shortly, which includes a list of all the competitions taking place and details on how you can sign up to participate. We hope you all have a fantastic time and make the most of the festival."

Mr. Wylkes distributed the pamphlets to each of us and then led us outside, encouraging everyone to enjoy themselves. As we filed out, I found a quiet spot to the side and opened my pamphlet.

I began to look at the list of competitions, curious to see if any events caught my interest and that I would want to participate in.

As I flipped through the pamphlet, I noted a wide array of competitions: blacksmithing, potion-making, archery, spellcasting duels, magic item crafting, mystical herbalism, and several others. Each event promised its unique challenge and opportunity for skill development.

However, the competition I was most excited about was the tournament scheduled for the last two days of the festival. I definitely planned to participate in that one. I couldn't help but wonder who else from our academy or the other school would also be taking part.
