The sun was shining brightly, the perfect backdrop for the big day Lisa and Jungkook had been planning for weeks. Their backyard had been transformed into a pastel wonderland, with decorations of pink and blue balloons everywhere, flowers lining the pathways, and an enticing aroma coming from the grill where Jin was working his magic. This wasn't just any gender reveal—it was a full-on celebration.
Jungkook had been pacing the yard, chewing on his lip and nervously glancing at the large box in the center of the garden, which held the answer to their future. Inside that box was the color that would tell them if they were having a boy or a girl. And Jungkook couldn't keep still.
"Bro, you need to calm down," Jimin said with a smirk, watching Jungkook nearly trip over his own feet for the fifth time. "You're acting like you're waiting for the results of an audition."
"It feels like that!" Jungkook shot back, running a hand through his hair for what seemed like the hundredth time. "What if it's a boy? I don't know if I'm ready for a boy. Boys get into so much trouble! What if it's a girl? Oh my god, what if it's a girl?"
"Then you'll have a cute little daughter to spoil," Jin chimed in, flipping burgers expertly. "And probably scare off every boy who comes near her."
Jungkook's eyes widened. "Oh no, what if she's really pretty? What if—"
Jin burst out laughing. "You're not going to survive this, are you?"
Lisa, on the other hand, was much calmer. She stood by the snack table, chatting with Rosé and Jisoo, who were both equally excited. She glanced over at Jungkook and shook her head with a fond smile.
"He's been like this all day, hasn't he?" Jisoo asked, raising an eyebrow.
"All week," Lisa corrected. "I don't think he's slept properly since we found out we're having this reveal."
"I swear, it's like watching him before a comeback," Rosé added with a laugh. "Except this time, the stakes are much higher."
Lisa smiled as she watched Jungkook pace around like a nervous schoolboy, his mind clearly racing. It was endearing, really, how much he cared. But she also knew he needed to relax, so she decided to take matters into her own hands.
She walked over to him and gently tugged on his sleeve. "Jungkook, come here."
He looked down at her, his eyes wide. "What if—"
"Shh," she interrupted, pulling him close and wrapping her arms around his waist. "Whatever it is, it's going to be okay. You're going to be an amazing dad, and we'll figure everything out together. Just breathe, okay?"
Jungkook let out a long breath, nodding as he leaned into her embrace. "I just want everything to be perfect."
"It will be," she assured him, kissing his cheek. "Now stop pacing before you wear a hole in the grass."
Finally, the moment had arrived. Everyone gathered around the giant box in the middle of the yard, phones out and cameras ready to capture the big reveal. Lisa and Jungkook stood side by side, holding hands as they approached the box.
"Okay, guys," Namjoon called out, grinning. "This is the moment! Lisa, Jungkook, whenever you're ready!"
They looked at each other, a mix of excitement and nerves on their faces. Then, together, they pulled on the ribbon, and the box burst open with an explosion of...
Pink.
Pink balloons. Pink confetti. Pink everything.
Jungkook froze, staring at the pink shower raining down on them. "A girl," he whispered in disbelief. "We're having a girl."
Lisa laughed, tears of joy in her eyes as she turned to him. "We're having a girl, Jungkook."
But Jungkook wasn't moving. He was still staring at the pink confetti like it had just told him he had to perform a solo concert in front of the entire world.
Taehyung couldn't help but laugh as he walked up and clapped Jungkook on the back. "You good there, man?"
Jungkook blinked, finally snapping out of his daze. "A girl... What if she looks like Lisa? What if she's too pretty? What if boys start hanging around? What if—"
"Whoa, whoa," Jimin said, stepping in with a grin. "You're getting way ahead of yourself. Let's just focus on the fact that you're having a daughter, okay?"
Jungkook nodded, but he still looked like he was about to pass out from sheer panic. Lisa couldn't help but laugh, leaning into him and whispering, "You're going to be fine. And I'm pretty sure she's going to have you wrapped around her little finger."
Jungkook smiled, finally relaxing a little as he looked down at her. "Yeah... Yeah, you're right. I'm just—wow. A girl."
As the celebration continued around them, Lisa could already see the gears turning in Jungkook's head. She knew that by the end of the night, he would be on his phone, searching up everything he could find about raising daughters. And probably making plans to scare off any potential suitors for the next eighteen years.
Namjoon approached them with a knowing grin. "You do realize this is just the beginning, right? Get ready for a whole new adventure."
Jungkook sighed, wrapping an arm around Lisa and pulling her close. "I guess I better start preparing now."
Lisa chuckled, leaning into him. "You've got time. Let's just enjoy this moment."
But even as she said it, she knew their journey as parents was going to be anything but ordinary. With Jungkook's over-the-top personality and their little girl on the way, life was about to get a whole lot more interesting. And she couldn't wait to see what was next.
