When Miraz stepped forward, he appeared arrogant. "There is still time to surrender."
But Peter didn't seem intimidated at all. "Well, feel free."
But Miraz didn't let that go. "How many more must die for the throne?"
"Just one," Peter replied without batting an eyelid. Then they rushed into the duel screaming. At first they really seemed evenly matched. Edmund and Glenstorm both looked confident.
But suddenly Peter lost his helmet and his throat narrowly escaped Miraz's sword. Y/n swallowed hard as Peter barely ducked away. But then he managed to cut Miraz's leg.
Peter fell to the ground when attacked again. Miraz immediately took advantage of the opportunity and stepped on his shield. Peter screamed out in pain. It looked like Miraz had dislocated his arm. While Peter continued to lay on the ground, Miraz attacked again. But the blonde boy rolled away and managed to knock Miraz down.
Suddenly y/n saw movement at the edge of the forest in the corner of her eye. A horse had appeared there and was riding towards the Narnians. Caspian and Susan sat on the animal's back. But Lucy was missing. She must have stayed behind in the forest, as planned.
"Does your Highness need a respite?", Miraz spoke up again. Peter hesitated.
"Peter!", y/n called sternly to the boy. When he looked at her, she clearly saw that he was exhausted and in pain. He now seemed to realize that himself. "Five minutes?"
But Miraz was by no means merciful. Even though he looked pretty exhausted himself. "Three!"
The Telmarine King collapsed onto his wooden throne. On the other side of the duel area, Caspian and Susan were now talking to Peter in whispers. Of course y/n didn't understand what they were saying, but it was definitely about Lucy and their plan. The plan to find help in the forest.
Miraz turned his gaze to Glozelle. "I assume you won't let things get that close again!"
Chuckling y/n tilted her heady. "Oh poor old man, almost got beaten up by a kid."
"Careful!", with a warning look Miraz turned his attention to her. But y/n looked over at the Pevensies and Caspian again. There Susan hugged her eldest brother and then climbed up to the ledge near the caves. When y/n looked at the Narnians, she noticed that their faces were more worried than victorious. When y/n then looked at Edmund, she signaled to him with a meaningful expression that his brother should make the mood more hopeful.
"Keep smiling," she heard Edmund say to Peter. Y/n sensed that it wasn't easy for him. Nevertheless, Peter held out his sword to the Narnians, who now cheered again.
Then Miraz turned to his advisors. "How does he look to you?"
Y/n chimed in again. "Like a winner."
"Young," Sopespian replied with a too bittersweet undertone. Meanwhile, Glozelle had started treating the wound on Miraz' leg. "But his Majesty's doing extremely well... for his age."
Y/n couldn't stop a little giggle from coming out of her mouth. Miraz had to realize that he had no chance. If Peter didn't defeat him, one of the Telmarines would stab him in the back.
On the other side Edmund adjusted Peter's arm and gave him his sword back.
When the two fighters faced each other again, they were no longer wearing helmets. They screamed more wildly than before. But Miraz brought Peter down again. Shortly after getting back up, Peter managed to knock Miraz's sword away. So the Telmarine king could only defend himself with his shield. But then Peter also lost his sword and Miraz pushed him aside.
"Peter! Be careful," y/n shouted. Miraz had picked up his sword again and wanted to attack Peter from behind. But Peter saved himself by hitting the wound in Miraz's leg.
"Respite!", Miraz shouted and sank to the ground while Peter raised his fist. Ready to strike. Miraz looked up at the boy. His voice sounded weaker now. "Respite."
Edmund shook his head and shouted at his brother. "Now's not the time for chivalry, Peter!"
Y/n nodded in agreement. "He's right, just finish him off!"
But Peter hesitated and lowers his fist again. He was about to turn away from Miraz when the man stood up and tried to ambush him. Y/n watched the event with a horrified look.
"Look out!", Edmund shouted to warn his brother. So Peter was able to dodge and he snatched Miraz's sword from. Then he turned, raised the weapon himself and rammed it into Miraz's side.
Nobody moved. Peter raised the sword again, but did not gave the final blow to Miraz. An arrogant laugh came from Miraz. "What's the matter boy? Too cowardly to take a life?"
"It's not mine to take," Peter hissed contemptuously. He took the sword and walked towards Caspian. He grabbed it and stood in front of Miraz.
"Perhaps I was wrong. Maybe you do have the makings of a Telmarine king after all," they heard Miraz say. Y/n swallowed. She wanted this fight to end. But somehow she didn't want Caspian to kill this man. There were far too many emotions here. Caspian also seemed to be struggling with himself. He shouted, raised the blade and slammed it forward. But the sword didn't land in Miraz's chest, but in the ground in front of him.
"Not one like you," Caspian then hissed. "Keep your life. But I'm giving the Narnians back their kingdom."
Y/n breathed out a sigh of relief and joined in with the Narnians cheering. Then she invitingly held out her bounded hands to Sopespian. But the man walked past her towards Miraz. He helped the wounded man to stand up. "My King."
Miraz looked at Sopespian almost with hostility. "I'll deal with you when this is over."
But Sopespian shook his head and gripped Miraz tighter. "It's over."
Then an arrow suddenly appeared in his hand, which he rammed into Miraz's back. The arrow looked familiar, it had red feathers like the ones Susan was using. Where had Sopespian got it from? Y/n squealed as she realized what had just happened. But Sopespian drowned her out. "Treachery! They shot him!"
Y/n started screaming immediately. "What? No! No he's lying! Don't listen to him! He killed him!"
Sopespian looked at her in shock for a moment. But then he started screaming again. "They murdered our King!"
Y/n tried to argue. But no one listened to her. So she finally tried to go over to the Narnians' side. But Sopespian grabbed her and dragged her away towards the Telmarines. "Come with me, brat. You won't see your friends again."
"Caspian!" The only thing y/n could do was scream for help because her hands were still tied.
