Explain thy self

I had fallen asleep soon after the performance. When I fell asleep I was happy. Now that I had been sleeping for a while though I tossed and turned. My body shaking violently. Not the shaking though was the weird part, it was how fast my body was vibrating. It was that of a speed, that no human should be able to go. Esme looked at me strangely wondering what was going on. That was the least of our worries. My eyes brimmed with tears. I let out a loud big scream.

The rest of the family came down, scared and worried about me. Everyone gathered around the couch where Esme and I were sitting. Is she ok? Emmett asked. They weren't gonna yell at him and say no, that it was obvious that I wasn't ok, but asking someone if they're ok is the first natural question to ask. I'm sure she will be, but right now she's having a bad dream. Carlisle said coming to sit on the other side of me.

Should we wake her? Jasper asks. Well why wouldn't we, of course we should. Esme says petting my hair. Wouldn't that just scare her more? Rosalie points out. No, not if Esme is the first person she sees when she does. Edward says. He's right, Alice agrees. Honey wake up. Esme says rubbing my back. I stopped shaking, still with tears in my eyes. Sh, sh she whispers into my ear continuing to pet my hair. You're ok sweetie, you're ok, I'm here I'm here.

Carlisle rests a hand on her shoulder. She looks up at him with a sad smile. He kisses her forehead. You're doing great darling. I finally open my eyes. Esme wiped my tears away. You're ok, you're ok. Honey no one is gonna hurt you anymore. As long as you're here with us, no one is ever gonna hurt you. I will protect you with all my being.

Baby why don't you bring her up to bed. Esme nods, bringing me up to my room. She lays me in bed. As she pulls the covers up over me. Kissing my forehead. She sits on the bed and lays down beside me. She too starts to fall asleep, I promise in the morning I'm going to explain what I know to you, because I wish I knew everything, but I don't so I can't, but I'm gonna figure it out. I won't leave you in the dark. We're family now and I won't keep anything from you. We're all in this together as a family.

In the morning she was still there next to me. Good morning, she whispers playing with my hair again. Did you sleep well? She asked. I nodded my head. I looked around finding I was in my room. I brought you up here last night and stayed with you. I hope that's ok. I rubbed my eyes nodding my head. Yawning. She laughed a little. Come on dear, let's go downstairs and have breakfast. I gave a small smile.

I started going down the stairs, but my body was working against me, moving too fast. I lost my balance and started to fall. Esme wasn't fast enough to get to me, more in shock than anything. Good thing, Edward had been. Good morning he said reaching for me. He set me down once I could stand on my own. You ok there? I nodded.

Carlisle! Esme calls. Carlisle comes down. What is it? What happened? She whispers into his ear what had just happened. I see. Hm.... I'll be in my office figuring this out. Esme nods her head. I will make breakfast. Edward are you joining us? I shall if it's ok with her. I go to sit at the table, patting the seat across from me. He gives a small smile sitting down. Edward dear, would you like your usual? Oh you don't have to do that Esme. He said shaking his head and getting up again.

I want to though, I'm already making breakfast for Snow. In fact.... Oh family. She calls up.... Come have breakfast with Snow Edward and I. All: Ok mom. See Edward now everyone's coming down. They should probably use normal speed and not vampire speed. Oh that's right. Cullens?! All: Yes? Remember to use human speed not vampire speed. All: Ok. Problem solved Edward. Esme says running a hand through his hair ruffing it up a bit. *sigh* not you too Esme. He says flicking his hair and running his fingers through it.

Gee kiddo for someone who'd rather not have emotions or act human at all, this is really hypocritical of you. In fact you act more like a human then the rest of your siblings and that's still with your powers, Rosalie doesn't have any and yet you act more human then even her. Yeah but Rosalie's right vampires really are just humans with super powers.

Besides it's not the human emotions or whatever I don't like, it's still having a form of human weakness. We're not humans we're still vampires and I just don't understand how we can still have human weaknesses. Having stuff like that makes me feel weak. I don't like feeling weak because if I'm weak I can't protect those I care about. Like now we have Snow now and I want her to trust me to trust all of us, but how can she ever trust me if I can't protect her?!

Edward, sweetie you're not weak, it just means your human. That's just it though we're not humans! We're monsters. I don't want to be a monster. We're not monsters we're for one more civil than the rest of our kind, and we only eat animals, we don't kill people, you know that. Just because we're immortal and have super powers doesn't make us any less human than from before we were turned. Just be yourself and we love you just the same. She ruffles his hair kissing his head, setting down a cup of blood next to him.

Be honest, was that all a ploy to act motherly? No honey I meant everything I said. And not that I'm upset because I understand that I physically can never replace someone like that in any of your lives, but I find it interesting that everyone else calls Carlisle and I mom and dad, all except you. I'm sorry Esme, I don't mean any harm in not saying so. No it's alright dear, again I understand that I can't ever replace your actual mother, but I still know you think of me as such. Now all of you sit down and drink your breakfast. All: (except Edward) yes mom. We were all gathered around together like a real family. Oh and Snow? Esme asked me. I looked up at her.... When you're done as promised I want to explain myself to you since I know I share your pain and have that emotional connection to you. I frowned confused, then gave a sad small smile.

When I was done, as promised I went with Esme so that she could explain what she needed to. I went upstairs and knocked on her door. Come in. I heard the nice woman's voice call from the other side. So I slipped in. Oh Snow you came. I nodded my head. Sit down sweetie. I sat on the bed. I motioned for her to go on. She sat down on the other side of me. Honey, she said running a hand through my hair. There's something I need to tell you. When you first arrived and "told" us who your mother was, it surprised me.

I couldn't believe after everything she had been through same as myself and yourself we 3 have gone through it all and I was surprised to find out she had a child. Which is you. You're mother used to be one of us. I mean she was never a Cullen, but she was a vampire. I say was because after she married your father and had you she figured out a way to make herself human, but because she was a vampire, she'll still live forever and won't age. I know her because not only were we best friends, but... she said getting tears in her eyes taking my hands in her own, she's my sister, which makes you my niece and I didn't even know it.

You are my flesh and blood. All the others are like family to me and we are all family, but you, you're my blood. I wish I could tell my sister that you're alive, but I would just be putting you, myself and my sister all in danger all over again and I can't put any of us through all that again. I love you sweetie and since your mother can't be here I hope you will love me like a mother because I love you like my daughter just like all the other children in this house. She hugged me tight, and I wish I could tell her how I felt, and that I loved her too.

So I did the next best thing. I tugged on her hand and pulled it to my chest where my heart was. I'm so glad sweetheart. And I hope someday I will hear you speak. I nodded my head with that hope too. My husband is working on figuring out what's been going on, with you experiencing the kinds of things you have been, but shouldn't be as if you have powers like us. I'll let you know once we have any results. I nodded my head. I love you honey. She said kissing my forehead.
